Homo bay?

Since his horse is Homo bay,
Red Headed ChDF
Is it possible to breed to this guy.. and get anything other than a bay? Is it possible to get a liver or DP?

While Red Headed may be homozygous bay, she had no black genes and therefore is a chestnut. If you breed her to your liver boy you'll get red based horses, but if you breed her to black horses the foal will be bay.
Bay = E? A? basically.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Yep. Even though Red Headed is a homozygous bay with AA, her extension is recessive so you do not see the bay being "switched on". She is chestnut with the ability to produce bay. Bred to Freak, you would always get chestnut (ee) with one copy of bay (aA) which you wouldn't see. As far as the DP, I would think she has at least one copy of it, so it could be possible for her to produce a liver.

Obsidian beat me to it!

I do agree with Ripshin on the dp though. That girl is far too dark to be a normal chestnut, so she's certainly hiding something.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

If you breed those horses you are almost guaranteed a live foal. The sire is hom dp and the mare is atleast het----

Should get 50% liver and 50% regular chestnut from that pair. The foals will always get 1 sty and 1 dp from the sire. And each foal has a 50% chance of getting dp from the dam, which would make liver.#28036
