Painted, You need to delete the entry on the Secret Santa announcement thread and send it to me as a private message. Once you've sent in your entry (correctly :P )it can't be changed. Don't be in a huge rush! :D

@HiddenCreek - gifts are 'revealed' or sent to the 'giftee' between Dec 23rd, and Dec 25th. Anonymous gifts can be sent any time after Dec 20th.

First you fill out the entry form for yourself. Then, on December 16th I will send you the entry form from someone else who entered, then you start shopping for that person. You don't give them their presents, or tell them who you are until after December 23rd.

I'm glad that it is not completely anonymous because I have a GMT token to use on my RS stallion gift, I plan to ask how they want it used then change the stallion before sending him. Let me know if this is not a good idea. Thanks to all the organizers and donators :)

I might just randomly gift people straws from the 20th-25th lol thats just kind of how I think I'm going to do it rather than filling the form hope no one minds. Might through in some embryos.

@HiddenCreek Last year I saved up a whole barn full of horses for my secret santa along with tons of straws lol So you can have as many gifts as you want but they're all given at one time between Dec 23rd and 25th :D This year I'm planning to outdo myself!

@EasternShowBarn - Go to the announcement post for the Secret Santa 2017 and find the entry form. Copy it, then go to your inbox, and open it like you were going to send me a private message, except paste the entry form in there. Then move your cursor back up to fill in the blanks that need to be filled in.

And for your second question; No, it is a completely random draw; whose name you get. You are MORE than welcome to give gifts to anyone you want, anytime, but this event is random.

@SuperSarah - that sounds like a great idea! The more creative the better! Just remember that the RS stallion has to be under 4 to use the GMT on, and you won't know who your 'giftee' is until next month.

To be in the 100k+ can you give the person a mixture of things to add up to over 100000hbs or just one big thing that cost real money?

Give as much, or as little as you want. The over 100k group doesn't have a limit! Give them 500 straws, 73 show horses, 13 embryos, and 6 barns if you want! :P Use real money, or game money....well, maybe not MONOPOLY money, but whatever works!

Sorry for the questions, but this is my first time and I am a bit nervous that I will not live up to Secret Santa expectations in the 100k+ group so I signed up for the 100K to start. How do you know what is 100K? Should I assume a rank special foal value is the 2500 that I spent to create it?

for the under 100k group you just have to not spend more than 100k :) So if you have a bunch of horses in your own barn that you want to gift, I personally didn't count them towards it last year. I kept track of the cost of creating horses, and buying horses/straws/eggs and stop before reaching 100k. And I still had a huge barn full of horses and freezer full of straws to give to my SS :) Does this make sense?

A lot of us more established players will cut you really good deals for Secret Santa presents too. Lots of us will sell straws at cost or make deals on foals or mares. Don’t hesitate to ask. I will run a forum post about selling for gifts after the rollover for the 28th. Until then I’m madly emptying pastures as I bred 8 pastures yesterday!!!

Quick question. We have some closed genes, and I wanted to make straws/horses available that would have closed genes for people to purchase for Secret Santa. Would this be a doable thing? I would check to make sure the recipient had the gene, but how would you do Secret Santa paying, then delivering?

@RipshinCreekFarm - Usually the person who is sending the gift comes to you and pays, then YOU send the gift directly to the receipient. That way the gene is never actually in the hands of someone who doesn't own a foundation.

Yep, it can be intimidating, but in the nearly 9 years I've been involved with Secret Santa not ONE person has been upset by any gift, big or small. You've seen how supportive this community is, and it shines even brighter around the holidays! The best advice is to ENJOY YOURSELF! Have fun shopping, ask other players what THEY would do, or to help you find the right gift! That's half the fun! Ask all the questions you want, you KNOW we fight over who gets to answer first! :P

Will the picking be random or chosen for who would best suit? (Ex. someone who put riding ponies down as a like in their form paired up with someone who also likes riding horses)

Nope! It's as random as I can make it. The only exceptions will be for the one or two players who have family members playing as well.

Available To Adopt is going to do a lot of it. I'm going to add some extra mods to the chat room to help out. Darkstar has offered to help and I will, most likely, take her up on that offer. I'd like to find one other person from the other side of the planet so we can cover the day and night 'shifts'.

AtA has a TON of extra barn space right now.

I also have a 1k stall barn I keep empty for various purposes. So I can also hold a ton of horses.

So forgive me if someone has already asked. But I was thinking earlier today that it would be nice to have a middle man and have someone who could ask some questions to our recipient? Example say I get candy land stables. They have down that they want rank specials that are brindle. It would be nice as a secret santa to know exactly what they like. This is where a middle man could come in? To have the secret santa ask the middle man to ask the recipient. We are doing secret santa at work and i wasnt sure what color my recipient liked so I asked a mutual friend and it was nice. Something like that? I would gladly help but it would be nice to possibly have a few helpers? Anyone else think this would be helpful?

Obviously we have the under 100k and over 100k but how do we know if we have met the requirements.
E.g I brought a RS for 15k so that would count as 15k
But if it was a horse I breed would it only be classed as 2500hb, 4100hb to cover testing or say 20k for a RS you bred?

Just want to clarify so I can reach my limits :D

You value it where you want to, honestly.

I think most people tend to undervalue everything they give as a gift at Christmas. Are you worried about staying under 100k or getting over 100k?

I have a question. I bought into Axiom earlier in the year and I bought all the colors. I wasn't sure if I was going to do secret Santa when it was available last month and I didn't buy it again. Now I'm signed up for the +100k and I'm wondering if I can gift one of my earlier purchases (foundation, of course) to someone who doesn't have it and still be on record as having bought all the colors. I know eventually foundations die off, and I have intact horses that have different combinations of all of the colors, but I want to make sure I won't lose them if I want to gift one of my foundations. I hope my rambling doesn't confuse anyone. Thanks!

Devil's paradise. Typically if you transfer ownership of a foundation with restricted genes you need to have Ammit's approval and you lose the ability to breed or own that gene. That is, at least, how it has worked in the past for individuals who have sold or given away their foundation horses. Otherwise you could just breed up a couple horses than transfer the foundation all over the place, defeating the purpose of restricting the gene.
