Has anyone had a horse "grey out"
  • This mare used to be a lovely striped dark grey brindle, then today I noticed she is a lot lighter.. barely showing her brindle. I had a mare do this in real life, so I'm wondering if that is what happens, or if it is a portrait reroll I did not intend or what..
I loved her color!!! I miss it.. lol will she eventually go white?

  • It's her varnish. It happens to most appaloosas. Someone else may be able to explain it better. In my experience, she will most likely go completely white eventually.

  • Pretty sure greys and varnish apps reroll every month and get paler and paler as they age.

  • Here's an example of an older horse that held his color for longer than most. He was 17-18 years old at pass (this year)
I'm not sure what exactly makes certain horses varnish out faster than others. I don't know if it's random or not either but some go white within a few season others hold color all there life. The varnish is what makes him look frosty

Edit: I find Lotta Colors name to be super ironic and kinda funny :-))

  • Both grays and Varnish apps do “gray out” over time in the game, but Ammit has also said appy and Brindle are not playing nicely together at the moment and that’s may cause some Brindle apps to go mostly white prematurely. It’s on her list to fix, but not near the top of the priority list with autoshow carking it and similar issues!
