Unrequited Love

Do any of you guys have a favourite stud or broodmare (or even altered horse) that you just can't help but love, even if they aren't quite doing what you wanted?
For me, my favourite foundation stud (Jimi Pesto) gave me Jimi Pesto Jr
He's CT'd as one of my best studs, and I'm really exited to continue with his dun line. Now, I had him as a pasture stud this month thinking "this month is the month I get A grade Jimi Pesto III." But, alas, he gave me fillies. My favourite looking fillies, and the best foal of the crop graded against another A colt, but FILLIES! I want my colt! February better be your month, Junior *shakes fist* Maybe I shouldn't be so prejudice.
Please tell me someone feels my pain? -
Seriously? Why is the filly fairy at your place? I'm up to my ears in colts. Superior colts, including As from my 2 gen 2 freshmen, but drowning in colts. Wanna trade?
I was insanely excited to see that my freshmen had given me A papered colts from their first season...and then I opened the pages and they gave it to me on the most boring foals the threw. My super metallic smokey silver black gave me a plain black colt (always useful tho!). And my DP champagne with lots of bells and whistles threw the most beautiful chocolatey liver chestnut looking colt that got gelded, and his plain flaxen chestnut got the A. Oh well...they could have thrown 90% altered foals, so I should quit whingeing!
Pictures, to share my pain and joy:
Lupine Jewel, seriously one of the best looking stallions I have...
And his colt--pretty, but not super amazing.
And Rivendell, quite striking
With his colt -
Lmao I had to giggle at Rivendell (who is REALLY quite striking) compared with his colt. I've had a similar experience!
If you'd like to swap Kinky Wolf for Lemon Pesto (best of the crop) I'd be DELIGHTED!!!! -
I will also swap her for Drinking Game - Chestnut for chestnut lmao
-
Yeah, my Ice 8 boy
... has been TERRIBLY stingy with the ice in his maiden year.
So far out of 14 breedings I have 2 intact with ice, both mares. -
Antique Carousel is my favorite broodmare. She has always been my favorite horse since I started the game breeding buckskins. I love that she is a buckskin and soooooo dark. Because of her color, I have never rerolled her.

She has a daughter, Antique Comet, that is close to the same color, I never rerolled Antique Comet either.

I rerolled her son, Bielas Antique, who was also close to the same color. He came out more of a buckskin dun. That is why I never rerolled the other two.

I hear that... I'm terribly sorry I rerolled Bielas Comet, he was almost exactly the same color as Carousel.
-
Yep, so was Bielas Antique, he looks like his daddy does after you rerolled him.
-
I was checking my 2 year olds, and resetting the image from foal to 2 years.
Check her out, she turned into a nice two year old showing off her plume..... Santas Gulastra Gift:

And here is the colt that looks like her with his plume.

All of the horses above are descendants from Abbey's horses. Except Antique Carousel. Thanks Abby for being sooooo awesome for suggesting breeding Carousel to your stallion.
-
You're very welcome :)

When she was born she was a beautiful leopardLife is Special live it to your fullest

Mabel, this boy of mine is a perfect example of that unfortunate event. Both Mom and Dad had patterns and he got none of them. I kept him intact anyways since he compared superior to my best third gen stud, but man I wish he had gotten some more pretty genes.SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES

talk about unrequited love...I'm about to go slit my wrists over this one.

I'm not sure I'm strong enough to hit the button to geld him.... May need some digital hand holding for that one y'all....
-
That stinks Cheers. I feel your pain.
-
Oh no Cheers! Thats so not fair! *holds your hand*
-
I probably would have kept him intact. I have no fortitude.SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES

It was not fun, but I knew the longer I put it off, the more excuses I would find and next thing I'd find myself breeding him and getting a pasture of crappy foals without brindle! But he is going to live in my primary barn for a while just so I can stare at him....
-
Def keep him for a show pony, we need more brindles in the game past 1st gen so that the leaderboards fill. Or, if you don't want him, I know a brindle hoarder...
-
If it makes you feel any better, I was so in love with this guy that I kept him intact for 4 seasons, and today I looked at him again and thought, "He's not up to quality...." and got out the snippers. *sniffle*
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=292004
....he has butt rainbows. :( :( :( -
Bummer abbey, i would have taken himLife is Special live it to your fullest
-
Oh he's definitely going to be a show pony! Decent PT for a gen 2 so I'm hoping he will earn me lots of points!
I love the butt rainbows....sorry you had to snip him! -
Funny thing is cheers hes out of my Yule log mare i sold to youLife is Special live it to your fullest
-
Yep. Her name was appropriate. For those who haven't looked, the dam of my brindle gelding is named "Heard My Heart Break"
