Quality of Breeding Ability
-
I have this stallion: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=865682
And I bred him for the first time to 45 equal breeding ability mares (Red papered/30 days in pasture bonus to his B paper quality).
After strict breeding advice, I was left with six intact stallions and 14 intact mares. I wasn't too concerned about this ratio as this number is rather normal for me. What I am concerned about is this, of the six colts only three of them papered A while the other three papered B (same as their sire). That's odd. I usually get more foals of higher breeding ability than their sire/dam.
Most concerning are the fillies, all 14 intact fillies papered Red. =(( Now I am going to have to go through all their pretty profiles and snip them because I know I could have gotten blue.
Is this a stallion issue or a mare issue? I have gotten blue papered fillies from all of these mares before when using a different stallion. I don't want to waste the hbs on PT scoring the foals to determine his AFPT score, but if that is the best suggestion I am willing to give it a go. -
Could you comparison test the stallions in question? (Expensive I know..)

You got 3 A's which means you could have gotten blues as well. Just bad luck they where all male.

I'd give him another shot. Like Ammit said, he CAN produce A/Blue quality, just bad luck you got all colts this time. I give all studs at least two seasons because luck is a factor in breeding.#28036

It's probably more to do with variables in the game code. You are going to get a + or - on every parameter of the foal's code. This makes it more like real life where the same pairing will never throw an identical foal.
You were probably just unlucky this time, next season you might hit the jackpot.Thanked by 1Ritsika -
I had a terrible season in my GP pasture this year. Not a single A or Blue and tons of low PTs and inconsistent fillies, and Yellow/C passing SBA. Worst season I’ve had with those boys, the girls still mostly have the full pasture bonus. By the same token, I got 14 A/Blue from my KP pasture this season, the best ratio so far. Pastures do have highs and lows.Thanked by 1Ritsika

Thanks for the information everyone.
I've had low numbers before but only three out of 45 was my lowest yet. I will give him another go next season. I was just discouraged and didn't want to waste my time breeding him again if the stallion was at fault.
