It’s a bit risky in my book. Both prospective parents carry a version of Splash. Mom has Frame, dad has one of the riskier Kit genes with W10 and mom’s W20 just ups expression of all those genes. If you have a suitable mare with less risky genes—especially no splash and no W1 or W2—I would be more comfortable with that cross with a straw I had to pay a fair few hbs for.

In general I will also say that when I look at a horse and it’s visually very white, I tend to think that is a very risky horse to breed to other Splash/Kit horses anyway. I want my horses for those crosses to be at least half colored, more like Mr Magic. That’s just my rule of thumb though and may have not bearing on reality.

Splash 1 is safe with all of the other Splashes as far as a straight combination. However, splash increases risk in kit combinations.

That cross does seem a bit safer to me. If you’d like to have a look through my gen 2 mares I’d be happy to put one up for you to breed from as well.

I actually have 2 straws from Mr Magic, so I might use my mare for one, and and look through both of your mares and see if I find any I like! :) I'm pretty sure both my straws are guaranteed, so maybe I'll get a few tries in before I get too broke :)) ok, I think I'm gonna do it... I tried a few times last season, but they all failed BA, so fingers crossed!

Well, she literally missed every fancy gene from her dad, and papered red, so I'll probably have to spay her :(

I wouldn't worry about keeping a red 3rd gen - she's gorgeous and could be a 'high' red?

@Sunlit and @ZefSo the sire’s breeding rules require that Reds are snipped and that foals must be sold back to the game or to the sire’s owner.
