I did it again
  • :-/
Apparently I didn't learn the first time this happened. Forgot to remove my primary pasture foals. A whole generation of DP horses. So much work. Obviously not all of them were of quality but several were. Ugh.

    And life goes on

  • I'm so sorry for your loss :'(
Breeding quality pintaloosa riding horses and ponies - and having fun with it!
  • Oh no!!!!! I'm so sorry! That's heartbreaking!

We need to start posting our monthly courtesy reminder again. I will try to remember that next month!
  • Oh, that is sad to hear. I will try to help with the end of month courtesy reminder too.
  • I get a warning on my page that there are foals UN my pasture starting at least several days prior to the 28th. Does not everyone get that?

  • @Haltanny, I had that message as well. It saved my foals this season. I had forgotten that I bred my third generation mares.
  • I get the reminder on my page as well but had been out of state to visit family so I lost track of time. I had planned to get them the night we got home (monday) but it was late and I completly fogort of course

  • Make sure you remove any keeper foals the day they a born. Your pasture is not extra stall space for storage. ;)
    Thanked by 1StarfireAcres
  • I've been putting all my horses in my purchased stalls and leaving my primary open for the foals so I can pull them from the pasture right away and sort them out :) it's a lot of work getting those barns but they've helped me sort out my heard better :)
  • Oh man that's a bummer sorry about that hopefully you won't do that next season. I gladly got all my mares bred and foals out of pasture
  • I usually breed my pasture a few times a season but leave the foals. Near the end of the seasom i look through them and remove my keepers. I find it easier that way but sometimes I forget them.
    There's always next season
