The game won't allow fantasy genes to be put up for stud publicly, there just isn't a button on their page to do it I think, if not, there will be an error message if you try. You would have to sell straws or go through a buddy chat. Ice 8 is not restricted, but most people treat it similar to some or the rarer genes like Nexus, GP, KP and snowflake, many choose not to sell to people who don't have the gene.

What is Ice 8? I don't know the differences between the ices. I've got two types of Ice and I don't even know what they are! lol

This girl has Ice 1. It's probably the most common Ice gene in the game. It's a limited but not a closed gene. If you look at her gene test results they say I1 Ii.


Fire Party EiU

This mare has Ice 8. You can see it's a very different pattern from Ice 1. Where Ice 1 looks sort of like ice forming at the edge of a pond, Ice 8 looks like a giant Snowflake over the horse's back. Her gene test results say I8 Ii.


Stilleto Faunasong Ice8

This guy has Ice 1 and Ice 8. You can see it's really hard to see the Ice 8 mixed with Ice 1.

I think there are also some Ice 2 and Ice 5 horses floating around the game, but I don't own any and I don't think they are generally shared with the wider game playing population. Ice 9 and up are all closed genes, meaning you have to buy the gene from Ammit during a sale and have it put on a Foundation to be able to own any horses with the gene.

@Senlac Ice 8 is the ice pattern as shown in the above two horses :) You can find out what ice your horse has if it's gene tested by looking at the gene test results on the horses page. Look for the "I" allele. If your horse is, say, het for ice 2, it'll say II2 or I2I.

13 is my favorite, but 9 is awesome, too. I know 13 is private, but is 9 also, or is it one that comes out every now and then, like Axiom?
