What was the name of the last hurricane in the Atlantic that came before hurricane Harvey?

Gert it is! Congratulations KaschStables!
(it was later upgraded to a hurricane!)
Kasch I will add you to my chat room. Jez and Bourbon, you guys get a consolation prize! See you in the chat room!Thanked by 1KaschStables -
Thank you so much!!!
Rolling laughing at that picture too -
Lol don't worry bourbon I'm a clueless American, I dont live in Florida so I don't really keep track of hurricanes lol I live in California so the only things I worry about are fires, flash floods and the occasional surprise earthquake XDCelestial Performance Horses

Oh man, I think it'd freak me out if I had to keep an alert out like that on the general weather. UK news is mostly consisting of stabbings in London, false promises of summer and Brexit (boo!). I only kind of know whats going on in the US since I have family who emigrated over and twitter keeps it somewhat updated too.#4519

*Huddled in the Mid-west trying to avoid hurricanes to the south, fires to the north and west, earthquakes in Mexico, tornados from Oaklahoma and blizzards from Canada!*
While we are on a major fault line, here in St. Louis, tornados and flooding are the bigger concerns! -
Lol false promises of summer :-)) :-)) :-))Celestial Performance Horses

AtA - I'm from St. Louis!! Hahaha that's so true though!
-
I'm having some major confusion trying to figure out where you are AtA. It's like two states (?? Is that what they're called?) are trying to... hug St. Louis? I don't know, America is weird.
Also, TIL that Springfield exists!#4519 -
Yes they're called states.
Hahaha that's a good way to put it! St. Louis is technically Missouri, but East St. Louis is Illinois and isn't really part of the city. St. Louis and East St. Louis are also separated by the river.
There's a Springfield in about every state!Thanked by 1Bourbon -
Quick question, what on earth are those badge things on the roads on Google maps? I'm so confused right now.#4519
-
That is the name of the interstate highway. East/West interstates have even numbered names (I-70 runs through St. Louis) and North/South interstates have odd numbered names (I -70 crosses I-55 in St. Louis). You guys say A15, we use the letter I for interstate. If you follow I-70 east you will run into Ammit somewhere in Indiana.Thanked by 1Bourbon

Dang confluence you are all surrounded! Yes Springfield is real but since there's so many, figuring out which one the Simpson's live in is the real question lolCelestial Performance Horses

And, yes, I am in the Missouri St. Louis. The Mississippi river just happens to be the state boundry line as well as the biggest river in the US!
St. Louis is where the Missouri River meets up with the Mississippi river. Thus my other barn name....Confluence. -
My mind has been somewhat broadened. I'm still very wary of the US though, it seems very open and yet very closed at the same time. Plus I would get lost, but to be fair I'd get lost in a brown paper bag too.#4519

Bourbon, you should have seen me driving around in Cardiff! Talk about LOST! Wrong side of the road, wrong side of the CAR, twisty tiny narrow streets! EEEK!
-
Haha I live in Cardiff! I can 100% believe the lost part, our city expanded too quickly without any real consideration of how the roads are going to be laid out so it's twisty as heck in some areas. Caerphilly is so much more worse though, and the ring road in Coventry (outside Birmingham in England) is literally hell re-incarnated. No one should have to go through Coventry's ring road D:#4519

We drove up to Caerphilly, to see the castle, but then decided that the car parks were all too far away and we didn't want to walk! (I was walking around on a bad hip)
We had HORRIBLE directions from the airport in Cardiff to the Doctor Who Experience (and then to Salibury for the night), thanks to our Meh Travel agency. We finally made it to Doctor Who 2 hours late (but got in) and ended up driving back and forth twice between Salisbury and Avesbury trying to find our B&B! We did, eventually, manage to get our GPS working, so our drive up to Caernarfon was MUCH simpler, and LOTS prettier! -
Go west on I-70 and you'll find me, just before you get to KCMO!#28036
