Gorgeous!

Does a brindle foal occur only from a direct brindle breeding? Or can a non-brindle foal from a brindle parent produce a brindle down the line?
-
Brindles can come from non-Brindle parents and almost always do post gen 2. However, I'm unaware of any Brindle lined horse that doesn't have Brindle somewhere in its pedigree. In theory it can happen completely spontaneously, but I'm unaware of any random create Foundation with Brindle also. If you haven't, reading about chimerism in horses is interesting. It is a common cause of brindle in horses in real life, though Brindle in horses in real life is exceedingly rare.

It's weird because brindle in dogs Is almost always passed to the offspring for its parents I don't think brindle dogs are rare.
