Splash lethality
  • Out of Splash 1,2 and 3 which are lethal together/homozygous? I have forgotten, I know Splash 1 is fine together and I think 1 and 3 can be together? But what about the other options?

  • Splash 1 is compatible with everything.

Splash 2 is homozygous lethal and lethal combined with Splash 3.

Splash 3 is homozygous lethal and lethal combined with Splash 2.

Splash M is compatible with everything. (Just to be complete. *G*)

  • Splash M and White 2 are lethal when the foal has a high white factor I learned that lesson the hard way lol

  • I don't have splash M sadly :( I need to stop taking risks with my white genes as I think I lost 4 horses because I decided to try a couple of risky crosses.

  • I lost a test tube foal yesterday. That HURT.
  • Aw I'm sorry Cheers, it sucks losing a foal, I don't think the ones I lost were from expensive straws thankfully, this year the majority of my foals have been AI foals.

  • I did not lose it from splash lethality. I had a KP foal where 3 of the 4 possible kit combinations were safe and the fourth was only risky if the foal got high White factor. Just got a bad roll of the dice...but yeah! I will probably go back to only doing really safe test tube foals for a while after that!
  • I haven't lost any from Splash, I lost one from frame (that was really stupid of me) and a couple from kit. This season was the first season I had 2 breedable splash 2 horses, I forgot about the lethalness of hom splash 2 and thankfully the foal only inherited one copy.

  • Back when the very first Freaky Friday Rank Specials came out, someone GMTd their Freaky stallion and gave me straws. I think they made it brown....but in any case they didn't take off the frame! Their naming pneumonic for lethal genes was different from mine and somehow I forgot the stallion was a Freaky. I lost something like four test tube babies in a row because I bred him to I think Wet N Wild mares (who carry Frame as well) before I figured out what the problem was. That broke me of mixing Frame for good and now I GMT it off of any possible keeper stallions!

  • Awe sorry Cheers I GMT frame of all my keeper studs as well but I did get a freaky Friday mare from you Cheers and she has frame so a lot of my foals have frame it's so hard to keep frame out of my lines because freaky Friday RS Horses are my favorite RS lol so long story short I loose a lot of foals plus I didn't know that W2and Kitm were lethal if the foal has a high white factor I breed my Kitm studs to fuel to the fire RS mares for the sabino 1 so I get quite a few dead foals but I can't stop I love sabino 1 and Kitm together it's just a risk I'm willing to take lol
  • I was trying to make a chart for this, but I have 2 questions. Is splash 2 and splash 2 lethal? Also, is splash 3 and splash 3 lethal?
Always looking for Hidden Gates horses, sooty+ livers, snowflakes, Freaky Fridays, or satins!

  • Splash M and White 2 are lethal

Not actually true. Splash genes and KIT genes don't interact. There was another gene to cause this.
