Pixel ponies that remind you of RL friends
  • I just happened across this guy while I was breeding. It's funny how a simple game can bring back such great memories. The first horse I ever rode was a really dark bay who was a retired race horse named Woody who was living out his days as a trail horse at a summer camp I went to in Maine.

Some of my lines I created to have tons of horses that center around an old friend, like my Inferno line.

Copper wasn't a draft, he was more like a warm blood. He was already 20 when he came to us. His owner had died and though the will left him to his children none of them wanted him so our farrier mentioned us and the kids were happy to give him to us for free. He was the sweetest old man ever. To ride him was a dream. You barely rocked at all or even realized he was moving.

What horses or lines do you have that bring back great memories?
  • My Halloween Dancer line is for my paint horses that I have now. I have sorrel and white and had a black and white mare. I also have a Medicine Hat foal.
  • I don't have any horses reminding me of my horse friends, but I'd love to find one that looks like my horse Toby. (He is a Bay, with 2 back socks, a snip and a star!) :))
  • This horse reminds me of the horse I have right now :D except the real Elliott has lower socks, and a smaller snip on his nose. He's also really faded right now in the Florida summer :( image

  • Misti your in Florida too :D Our weather really does reek havoc on black anything. If it's not the sun fading them out its the humidity. When I was raising show bunnies I learned that not only the sun but the humidity could actually cause what looked like sun burning on their fur. It drove me absolutely crazy because we bred black and blue mini rex.
  • Omg that would suck fj1482
  • I ended up selling them all. I bought them for the kids to show. When I realized the humidity was messing up their fur we brought them inside. With prolonged interactions with the bunnies I found out 2 of the 3 older kids were allergic to the bunnies lol. No more show bunnies for us. We stuck with chickens hehehehe
  • Yeah, the poor horses are sweating all day long, even in their stalls with fans on them :( poor Elliott gets really overheated and is always dripping sweat by the time I'm done riding him... Florida's hot, and the humidity makes it seem even hotter :|
  • Yes, the weather has not been pleasant. Two of my kids joined football and cheerleading this year and we have had practice everyday this week. All of us are pushing water for all the kids because its just so hot.
  • Yeah, I have to go ride the horses really early in the morning to beat the heat, but even at 8 in the morning, it's over 95 outside.
  • This mare is named after my real life Tb mare, except she's dark bay instead of chestnut

  • I have 2 named for my horses (in RL). I don't breed little cobs but I might see at some point if anyone has a small chestnut tobiano I can call Sandy2:-

  • This girl is nearly a pixel carbon copy of my last gelding I owned. He was a little lighter in bone and had a perfect circular spot around his tail, but so close. :)

And this boy, if just a slight shade darker, would look exactly like my 3 year old mare. (:

  • These two pixels are exact replicas of my first horse, Distant Thunder...she was a sooty buckskin quarter horse mare...
She changed colour with the seasons...In the summer, she looked like this:

and in the winter, her coat lightened up and she looked like this...
