Taking straws off my pretty boy, not sure what to ask so would appreciate guidance! Happy to do multi straw discounts. -
I have a spreadsheet that I use to price all of my studs based on their paper level, genes, etc. If he were mine he would be priced at between 1500 - 2000 HBs per straw. There are quite a few KP foundation studs out there so pricing isn't super high on them I think.SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES

Thank you! Do you know if I can put him for public breeding or is KP restricted?
-
No restrictions. Being homozygous KP and with a boost and semi less seen genes, he would be an automatic 8k+ for me. My stallions' straws get anywhere from 15-30k a piece when I sell them and auction them off.Thanked by 1Kolladee Stud

My hom KP pearl boy has straws going for 3000. The boosts may make him worth a bit more but with such a range of KP studs at the moment, pricier ones can be difficult to sell without rarer genes like kitM or S+.
But it does entirely depend on what you and the buyer think his straws are worth! So take everyone's comments with a pinch of salt :D -
Not so long ago Homozygous KP straws and eggs were going for 25k+, eggs could go up to 50k+.
-
@kassierae But as with any market, prices fluctuate depending on what is popular, what is common, what is new etc. So it isn't so unusual to see a drop :)
-
I think too that the pricing needs to be dependent on how much they want to share him. People who don't mind their stud being used all over often price low so that lots of people have the opportunity to use him. People who only want really selective breeding will price high so that only the more established players with a lot of funds can afford him. So keep that in mind when choosing a price.SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES
