Okay so I wasn't sure if I should get 2 horses het genes or just get 1 homo gene and which I should give the homo gene I should give it too? I have my colors picked

1 red

1 blue

If you make a Het Red stallion and a Het Blue mare, you can:
-Breed them together for a chance at having 2G foals that are Het Red, Het Blue, Hom Axiom (Red and Blue), or have no Axiom at all. Having a Het Stallion and a Het mare would be the only way to have possible Hom G2 babies but you'd only have a 25% chance for them.
-Breed the Het Red stallion to a bunch of mares for 50% chance at having Het Red 2G foals.
-Keep in mind that the mare won't be able to be bred as often as the stallion. You could pull and flush her for eggs to get the most out of her, but that would be pretty expensive over time.
-Keep in mind also that the Het Axioms aren't as colorful as Hom Axioms.

If you just make one Hom Axiom (1 Red 1 Blue), I'd choose the stallion.
-He would be a very bold color compared to if he was Het.
-You could breed him to a number of mares and wind up with 50% Het Reds and 50% Het Blues (all 2G foals would be guaranteed to be Het).
-His 2G foals could then be bred to eachother for a chance at 3G Hom Axioms.

When I add projects I do exactly what you did. I make a homo stud, as long as homo is not lethal. By 3rd gene you should have homo foals. After testing simply cull for color and you will be all set :)

Can I buy green straws from someone if I only have red and blue?

I believe you have to own green axiom in order to be able to get green straws/eggs...

Each individual colour is closed (Red/Blue & Green). You also wont be able to purchase any het green straws/eggs (Yellow or Cyan)

Here are the rules as posted by Ammit in the announcement:

Axiom can not be shared with those who do not purchase a foundation.
Sharing restrictions are per gene.
-For example you must own a red axiom foundation AND a green axiom foundation to own a yellow
Axiom horses that escape and end up outside the original foundation owners will have the gene removed

I know Axiom has to go on a foundation that is 4 or less, but does said foundation have to be unbred? The page didn't specify

Yes, unbred (which also includes horses that don't have any living foals). The rules are the same as GMing through the GMT lab.

Yep. I'm still tempted to get red. The magenta color it makes with blue is pretty

How well is a homo red blue and a homo red green going to cross? Will it be 25% blue 25% green and 50% red?

@Oak.

If you have a Red Blue stallion and a Red Green mare:

1/4 chance of Red Red
1/4 chance of Red Green
1/4 chance of Blue Red
1/4 chance of Blue Green

If you have two stallions, a Red Blue and a Red Green, then yes, your ratios are correct. You would statistically get half the foals het for Red, 1/4 het for blue and 1/4 het for green. Obviously that's stats though and you could technically get a 100% Het Red crop. Statistically unlikely, but not impossible!

I feel like we need to start a chat room for the Axiom breeders for the people who want to sell the foals they don't want? Or would that not work? I wouldn't mind starting a group if people are interested :)

I caved and got 2 red on a gray mare. It'll take a little longer to get red up to the level of my other 2, but it'll be fun to play with :)

all good! But there's a chat room for each of the closed genes. It also makes it really easy because it will tell you there who has Axiom but maybe doesn't have all the colors so you can keep straight who can own what!
