Okay so I did a bunch of boosting on him and I'm wondering if a sex change might do anything :/ I just want this horse to pass BA

Both parents are equally good. My understanding of BA is that the horse is tested against the parent of the same sex, but in this case both parents are perfect Foundation so it won't make a difference.

If you are dead set on getting a superior foal, and you have cash to burn, you can try to clone and boost the clone a further 5%.

Has he failed BA after the 5% boost?

Honestly, if he can't pass BA after a 5% boost, I'd quit while you're behind. I have a B colt from Mr Meteor. I'm happy to let you have some straws.

Cheers, it's my understanding that they used to be tested against the parent of the same gender, but Ammit changed it so now they're tested against both.

I have this guy that I can give you a couple of straws from when he is older if you want? He missed out on the splash 3 but has white 3.

@Obsidian I thought BA was just against the parent of the same sex and SBA was against both. But I'm not sure.

The new "Breeding Advice" test is replacing gelding advice/mare advice, the showing aptitude test and parts of inconsistency testing.

The test will compare a horse to BOTH it's sire and dam now to lessen confusion from testing. This will make uneven ability crosses a bit less likely to pass advice than before.

Thought that might have been the case ^^ But thankfully you don't need to think about it in this case as you have pointed out both parents are of equal quality.
