I want to make my own breed name but I am simply stumped. I want it to sound elegant but strong and everything I come up with is corny or lame haha. How did you come up with your breed names?

(Yes I understand the rules about breed names, and THANK GOODNESS noone can name their breed something rediculous)

I took my stable name SandyCreek, and went to a translator to see what those two words were in assorted languages until I found something that sounded good.

I did this first in HaJ1, and my breed name there is Bachsandigan, the German for Sandy Creek. Here in HaJ 2, I opted for Norwegian and got Sandbuktian.

I came up with mine because its the name of one of my favorite YouTubers (Zerkaa). I like it because it sounds like Berserk but different and Berserkers are champion norse warriors.

I looked up Latin translations for "red" and picked one that I liked and then modified it a little to make it sound right as a breed name and not just a random Latin adjective.

I waited almost a year before deciding a breed name (Aqtiarusa is my breed)
It took me so long because like you I wanted something special. I wanted it to mean something to me and I waited for a time when I was inspired. I moved from my home state and family 10 months ago and have missed them so much ever since.the words I used for my name are from the native tribes that lived in my home state (Pawnee, and Omaha-Ponca) as well as some Hindi influence mixed in.

Arusa is the Pawnee word for horse (super original but I like how it sounded) it also has meaning in Hindi for calm, bright, like the sun. I liked both of these as it reminded me of Summers spent in Nebraska. Wide open sky and sunshine.
Aq'ti has origins in Omaha-Ponca roughly translating to "no matter what: happens or is said"

I think I picked a breed name, but I'm waiting for myself to get unsatisfied with it and pick a new one. I prefer to go Latin with any names I chose. I did a lot in the past and its never steered me wrong.

I got mine from an old Baby's name book. Kerr means Dark, and Edan means Flame (according to the book), so I merged the two into Kerredan, for my name, and just changed it a bit for the horses name, Kerredian.

I wanted obsidian in my horses names, so I googled about a bit. Thought of changing languages, but only get meh responses. Came across an article that talked about this dude called Obsidianus (roman I believe) who found shiny black glass. He named it Lapis Obsidianus, after himself because we all know romans are like that, so I chose that as my breed name.

I wanted something that would convey breeding for quality. I went with Latin because it is most often used in scientific names of animals and I knew none of the words I chose would be disqualified for any reason. I started Googling and found Domine dirige nos. I squashed it into one word for my breed name. It means Lord, direct (guide) us. Not necessarily quality but something I strive to do in my every day life and something I thought was fitting if I was breeding real horses.

This might sound a little silly, but I based mine off of the saddle that I own and I looked at different horse brands they use on ranches, so I came up with Circle Y.

I enjoy reading about the decisions that led everyone to their breed names. I think Cheers wrote my favorite ; ) Here I was thinking it was in reference to some beautiful, mystical flower or goddess.

I chose Accio becuase I want to summon All The Pretty Ponies, and it goes along with my HP theme. My surnames on this account are also spells:

Nox for my dark horses (black, blue roan, bay, grullo)
Lumos for the light ponies (cream, grey, palomino, perlino, champagne)
Incendio for the flaming redheads (red dun, red roan, chestnut)

My Appies get the surname TX, becuase they're loud and obnoxious and pretty and I love them even though they rub some people the wrong way... just like this fine state!

Here's my million dollar question: when you read Accio, do you hear Assy-oh in your head, or ACK!-ee-oh? The general consensus of the internet is "depends who you ask," and the audio books are in direct disagreement with the movies. Rowling is clear as mud on the matter.

Personally, I hear Dan Radcliffe shouting "ACCIO broom!" which reminds me of cute, dirt-smudged, British boys and really awesome dragons, both of which are things that make me happy. So, when you see my "ACCIO broom!" horses on the game, I hope you have an equally fond visceral response.

Mine is Tychorian.

Tycho's Nova is one name for a specific supernova (Tycho Brahe was also a Danish astronomer)

I have a 2 year old miniature filly named Nova.
Im obsessed with the moon and stars (MoonAcre, Nova, see the theme? lol)

I added rian because it sounded cool lol.

Mines so boring compared to a lot of peoples.. i chose Lucandrew.. its my 2 favourite peoples names combined . My Partner who lost his life at the start of the year, Andrew, and our gorgeous son, Lucas.

When I first came here I didn't know I could have a barn name so I was tagging all my horses with my initials "HS". So when I found out I could name my stable instead of changing all the tags on my horses I decided to just find a stable name that would work with "HS".

I also admit I play too much World of Warcraft. I main a paladin who is a proud member of the Argent Crusade. Their home base is in Hearthglen. So I named my stable Hearthglen Stables. I then chose the breed name Argent. I also have a line of grey drafts which resemble Argent Chargers/Argent Warhorses which are the official mounts of the Argent Crusade. My breed tatoo resembles the star shaped symbol for the Argent Crusade.

Mine is Andreme. An are the first two letters of my name. Dream is my favorite horse. I just mixed it up a bit by spelling Dream as Dreme. It was suppose to be a made up word. Not much comes up when you google Andreme lol.

Mine is celestial because I live in the desert and we can see a lot of stars here, and I also find astrology extremely fascinating so they're named after that as well lol
