I bought this guy whos apparently hetero snowflake..
If i bred him to another snowflake and both passed on the gene would the foal show as sf or does it need other genes to show? (Example kp is only expressed if a homo kp horse has 2 kit genes).. does sf need any other genes to show?

The Mare has to have appy and be het snowflake...then he has the potential to make a HOM snowflake baby...but he also might not throw snowflake babies all the time. :)♡ ID #23495 ♡

They don't need to be hom appy to show snowflake, just het appy. So if the foals get appy from the dam they would show their snowflake if they had it. Horses that show their snowflake are either hom snowflake het appy or hom snowflake hom appy.

You could GMT appy onto him but if you're planning on purchasing the GMT with hbs, you might be better off using that 250k to buy a 2G hom snowflake colt instead.

Oohh thankyou everyone :) i may possibly get a gmt after auction and add 1 appy to him to up my chances.. iwant to throw him in pasture with all my appys and see if i can find a hidden sf. I know its a long shot of having one and the odds are slim with only a het boy but its worth a shot. Lol. Ill just snip and auction all the babies off to make some money :)
