What do you think I'm trying to get my lines sorted and horses labled and I just couldn't decide -
I think just one DP :)
-
I agree with ColourWorld, just het DP.
-
I'd say het as well. For reference, this colt is Hom DP (as well as Hom Ssty like your filly).

Yep, het! And lovely!
This is another with all 4 darkening alleles and you can see what a rich, dark chocolate color they go.

By contrast this big girl is a little redder and lighter. She's only het DP

Would this guy be DP? I can tell DP on chestnuts and palominos (with or without sooty) but still learning with Bays :)●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

Thanks he's definitely het

I would say so. He has that ness about him. (A lot easier to read the ness with these guys than bay duns!) Here are some het dp mares I pulled out of the creation onslaught earlier.

If they are wild Bay does that affect the color when DP? Or do they look like normal Bays?

Wild bays can go bloody red! But there can be a fair range to DP in wild bay color.
This guy is DP DP and double sooty, but still fairly orangey

It should be noted that bright regular bays (no sooty) with DP can also be pretty red.
-
Here's an example of a regular bay that has DP and no Sooty. I know she's DP because she produced a hom DP het sooty liver colt when I bred her to a Freaky Friday stud.
WF Extra Credit PF DP
WF Hurricane 2G DP -
Edit: I am an idiot and read hom Ssty, ignore me!
-
She has no sooty, since the foal is liver, she had to have at least one copy of DP
-
Also, the colt is bay, so although hom dp is a lot darker kinda like a not completely burnt charcoal, but liver doesn't completely translate.
-
Yeah, the DP bays and the livers don't look the same, I just posted the colt since he's proof that the dam has DP. There was another question about DP in non sooty bays so that's why I posted the mare. She's not as red as a lot of the other non sooty bays that have DP but that might just be because she's ordinary bay and not wild bay.
