Finally went for it and put w8 on my Rhythm boy
-
I've been debating about whether or not I was going to purchase w8 for one of my foundation stallions, and I finally decided to go for it! I briefly thought about Macchiato, but I don't really like the idea of a closed gene and I wanted to be able to share my boy with other people. I can't seem to figure out just the right name for him, I've probably changed his name at least a dozen times since I've owned him. I have him named after one of my favorite DW characters right now, but I'll probably end up changing it again. I've got lots of great names for Rhythm of Four mares but none for the stallions lol.
I didn't think he'd end up as white as he did since he only has minimal white factor (I was hoping for the starburst look you sometimes get with w8) but the look is growing on me. I guess I could remove the w20 or change it to Roan so the w8 effect is a little more clear but I think I'll leave it the way it is. I'll be selling straws from him, I just have to add him to my foundation straw ad. I'm on my phone now and it won't let me scroll in the box to edit longer posts for whatever reason. Anyway, here he is!
Edit: I decided to keep the w20 on him. The look is growing on me and I don't want to remove it and then find out that he's barely showing any white 8 anymore. Now if there was a preview button when you were GMTing that'd be wonderful lol.

Wow he is stunning I like the lots of white but you could take off the W20 that would decrease his white :)Thanked by 1WindwardFarm

He's so handsome! I love white 8. I wouldn't change his coloring. I like it just the way it is.Thanked by 1WindwardFarm

@BlueJumpingBean
That's actually a really good question lol! I haven't decided on straw prices yet. I want to make sure that they're a fair price and not overpriced, but he appears to be the only living White 8 foundation stallion that isn't kept for in house breeding only or only available to other white 8 foundation owners so his straws will be a bit more because of that. I'm thinking either 10k regular and 15k guaranteed intact, or 15k regular or 20k guaranteed intact. Or possibly 10k regular and 20k guaranteed intact? I'm not sure what a fair and accurate price would be. I can't really find any other straw prices for white 8 foundations to compare since people seem to be keeping theirs in house only. If anyone who has some experience with pricing straws from foundations with rarer genes would be willing to give me a bit of pricing advice I would really appreciate it! -
Great work! I love the white on him and it's making me seriously think about GMT W8 on one of mine. Just when I thought this season was going to be cheaper, GMT is going to break me :))
