I finally narrowed down all of my horses into specific groups! And separate abbreviations in front of their names if they somehow get mixed up.

What did you do? Anything new from last leason that you added organizationally?

I'm gonna do tattoos myself. Takes hbs but I like it better that the long line of prefixes and suffixes.

I went through and gelded/ spayed a bunch of horses.... ones that i didn't have the heart to do right away as they are so pretty but didn't quite meet my testing goals ....i have some pretty fun show ponies now :D

KAS group. Originally it meant Keep Another Season. I would try to breed them one more season and if they didn't get better I would sell. This year I chose some of my 1G stallion to take care of this group, then found some "keep" mares that I thought would go well for those stallions so now its just a hodge podge group.

3 studs and only 6 mares. But all of my create mares will go to these stallions next season

I LOVE this stallion. He seems to keep up with all of my RS stallion (actually seems to do better) And he's DP. (Sired Live My Romeo). So this was the first year I specifically kept some chestnut mares for him. Also misc. others I thought would be pretty.

I really liked this create so kept making them until I got one I liked the look of and passed SBA. He achieved an AFPT of 10 after covering only 1 mare. No reject foals. AND he's a full 16.1, only 1 inch shorter than the maximum height of a create RS horse. So maybe he will be giving me some tall babies in the future. "Practically Perfect"

Only 8 mares for them, most of which are still foals, but that's ok. There 26 1G mares working to fill that up more.

Thanks for letting me share everyone! This is more for my benefit than anything so I can really look at the stallion:mare ratios. I think I have relatively a lot of stallions, and more are still in the bachelor house, but I don't think that's too terrible as I have lots of variety. I think I will probably try to sell more stallions though.

I usually change my barn names to the name of one of my studs and put all of the mares in it that he's going to be breeding to.

It will be a bit tricky to do that now cuz I added a bunch of new foundation studs and some of the colts are aging up. I dont have enough barns to do it like that this time around. Guess I'll be dragging out the excel spreadsheets.

Yea, I had originally hoped to do that, but I have too many programs too. Then I would put some show horses in their too to fill up the extra space and it just got super confusing. But eventually if I get enough barns I want to do it like that.

@HunterUnderSaddleGirl, I wouldn't worry too much about your lack of 4G girls for Ron Weasley. Even though he's 4G he's only B papered so he may cross better with any 3G Red mares you may have. If your 4G mares are Blue papered, they might not cross well with him since their breeding ability would be higher than his. Depending on what sort of B papered stallion Ron Weasley is, he could even match your 2G Red girls as well if he's a mid level B and not a high level B.

Also, I admire your dedication to specific breeding projects. :) My only 2 breeding projects are my exceptional and my regular foundation lines. I tried separating by color or pattern but I just couldn't do it and I kept breeding them together to get extra shiney horses with lots of patterns lol.

I pulled all my 2g and 3g mares out of pasture and left all my foundation out put all my 2g and 3g in a 15 stall barn so I keep my numbers low and moved all my show horses into the 100 stall so I can boost up my show bonus :) I'm glad I don't have a ton of horses

I spent forever organizing all my lines on HJ1 because I have so freaking many (I also reorganized some of the lines entirely and then made new ones lol).

Here I only have 2 projects - black appaloosas and grullos (with whatever patterns show up lol) and then a general line where all I care about is quality. My projects are both really tiny right now, since they basically started from me going 'man I love that one mare....'. I feel inclined to starting lines for all my RS stallions but on the other hand I seriously do not need more breeding stock, so for now they'll just breed with my general line and I'll get pretty good quality foals lol.
