Next Season
-
I was not thrilled with this past breeding season. I auctioned or sold all the foals back to the game. Even my macchiato foals!
I've been doing some big changes in my barns (selling all my WB) and completely restarting lines. I'm not sure if I'm actually going to breed next season or take the season off and continue my organization. Too many decisions.
Anyone else faced with decisions before next breeding season? -
Previously I've been breeding sort of randomly - I mean, I did plan out which studs I'd be using and which mares they would be bred to. But I would just sort of breed colors randomly. Like if I had six chestnut splash mares, I would probably spread them and randomly breed three to one stud and three to another, and then go down my list of mares sorted by color and randomly assign that way.
At this point I've finally narrowed down some actual breeding projects that I want to focus on, so I'm trying to sort mares into groups to meet those goals instead now that I have an idea of what I want my breeding outcomes to be. So that's my big project for next season, although some of the projects will probably take a couple breeding seasons to be implemented. -
Next season is all about Appaloosas and show ponies for me. My colts for my new foundation lines--KP, GP and Machiato--don't hit breeding age til August so I have another season to just focus on my spot size experiment and breed anything I can get my hands on to my Ice and Nexus stallions to further my show pony lines. Most of my mares will have the full pasture boost this season so I'm hoping to see some pretty nice PTs coming out of those lines...
Another excitement will be using my Mr Meteoric straw. I have the egg already picked out and know what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed! -
After announcing I was having trouble building a Liver herd, lots of nice folks helped me out big time. But doing the math, theres no way im going to get a full 30 day bonus for my good breeders so I'm going to skip this season save for a few special breedings. All my other foals are going to all be snipped and thrown into auction to get me a new 30 stall barn. (I have 4 15 stall barns full of show horses, a 30 stall barn will definitely free up some space.)Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.
Striving to become a quality Draft breeder. -
I bought a 2nd gen hetero snowflake stud who comes of age.. because i have heaps of appy mares (heaps for me anyway), i was thinking of chucking him in my 60 mare pasture with my strictly appy foundations and see if i get any surprise snowflakes.. i know if any mares are actually hetero snowflake the chances of both parents throwing snowflake are slim but its worth a try right?
Just not sure whether ready to not do much proper breeding or not this season.. but i guess all the foals can go to auction and get me a mew barn... oh decisions decisions..
My liver line, Exceptional producers etc and 2nd gens will breed as normal and i also have my first few 3rd gens come of age..Breeding liver chestnut drafts that carry snowflake and kp.
Also breeder of mushroom, watercolour, chinchilla, splash m, wrong warp and thunderstruck.
Horses generally always available.
PM me for any enquiries. -
Next year I will be focusing on GMT work for a couple guys, but although breeding might get delayed as I do a few more auction rounds, I am certain I will get breeding done, Get lots of show ponies and culls to throw in auction. Will also keep good breeders that come my way. Hope I gat that all sorted before finals though. Also have a girl picked out for my Meteoric straw. Just hope the foal turns out well! I'll just be looking for the five or six really nice foals this year... Until I get my new boy done at which point I will probably go a little insane as I figure out what sort of foals he will throw.

I'm pretty tight on hbs and I want to do a bunch of egg pulls and a flush next season as well as use my Mr. Meteoric straw, so I've literally planned out each and every day of the month. Im going to be creating horses and pasture breeding them and then selling them throught the month to raise a little bit of money (so probably dont buy any horses I auction lol!) and I've drawn out a calendar of egg pulling. I'm not going to breed my regular pastures until the end of the month since I have 100 mares and thats expensive.
-
My plan is to breed my pastures next season and then change out what mares are in them as i have new ones i would prefer in them rather than some that are already. So will be quite the challenge deciding for sure who goes where :)

I took till just a few days ago to breed all my pastures so everyone in the pastures is pretty much set up. I have two boys who are waiting to be GMTed into something cool, but I'm not sure what. I wrote down what the genes look like on Mr. Meteoric Milestone and might create a whole line just to match his genes with homo DP added simply because I love DP and I might add some snowflake in there down the road too. Neither of those genes show up on the gene test anyways so in reality it wont mess with my project other than to add some fun variation to it. My biggest breeding problem is I have a few boys who I have actually planned to pasture hop them and I still have not decided which pasture they will hop into next season and whether or not I will include the normal pasture Sir and have them share or whether to just let the normal Sir take a break and let the hopper Sir breed all the girls. The decision you have to make when your running 15+ different herds at one time lol.

This is the first season I'll really be keeping anything - I've sold all but like 5 foals every other season in order to make money for my basic upgrade. Now that I have the upgrade, I'll be keeping at least some foals - show ponies and breeders.
I only have 2 small projects and then just a general line of whatever, so for the general line I've gone through all my RS stallions and decided on the ones I want to give all the mares to because they're my favorites and I want to get their genes in the breeding pool. For the projects they'll go to their project specific studs.
I want to get more mares so I can max out all my RS studs but I'm WAY off that goal - I think I have 6 RS studs and only like 38 mares total right now so there's a big difference to make up lol. I also need way more show ponies for my show bonus so that'll be the primary focus for now.
Course I'm also totally broke at the moment (like, literally have 1200 hbs lol) so first priority will be to raise money to breed my 38 mares! Once I get my Sunday pay I'll probably look at either making some creates, breeding them and selling them and their foals, or buying cheap foals and auctioning them. We'll see what I have the money for. -
I kind of have a game plan as far as who's going where, my biggest decision is whether to breed ALL my mares on the 11th (my anniversary) or just the ones that have 28-30 days in pasture.#28036

My plan is to breed my 50 pasture mares to July's stud.
Dry Bed
Probably have a crap tonne of buckskins hitting the auctions mid-season.
I'm going to egg flush all my ExPro RS mares and possibly sell the eggs. Not going to breed them this season. Thinking about throwing them in with my 2g mares once those girls are ready.
I think I've settled on my King's Ransom mare for using my Mr Meteoric straw.
The Queens Pearls
Although I keep waffling. And lastly I need to pick out a stud for my 1000001 mare.
1000000
I know she isn't special being a black grey and no other exciting genes. None of my studs work for her, I was thinking of looking for a black patterned guy to pair her with. -
