Lethal Crosses
-
Ok, so EVERYONE knows not to cross frame with frame, because it'll equal a dead foal. However are there any others? I could've sworn that there was one for the other splashes, however I can't find it. Since I could end up with a foal with splash three now, I though I may as well find a post that says what it's lethal with and bookmark it.
And yes, I checked the good old Kit load chart, couldn't find anything there.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

This is the thread I have bookmarked that discusses the splash / frame interactions! I reference it all the time: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/8481/lethal-genes-chart-from-fb-outdated-information#Item_16

I know that one is titled Outdated info. Here is the link Ammit asked me to use: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/13757/new-kit-lethality-and-kit-mutation-load-explained#Item_11

Oh I wasn't looking for the chart, but what was lethal with what! Thanks Waldgraf, I knew I'd seen it somewhere.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Oh yay! I can update my bookmark!

I breed frame together and get alive foals....most of these have frame from both parents or at least the first 4 do they were all intact and I altered them my self when I started over well except for magic

But that 25% chance of getting a foal with two copies of frame keeps a few people away, like me. I was just looking for that with the splashes.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Yeah I know what you mean I honestly don't even look most of the time I guess I'm just lucky and thank god for that
-
If you breed het Frame to het Frame (which all horses will be, except Freaky Fridays), there is a 25% chance of getting no Frame (living foal), a 50% chance of getting het Frame (living foal), and a 25% chance of getting hom Frame (lethal).
Wolfgang, all of your horses may have had two parents with (het) Frame, but you beat the odds in that all of the horses you linked only got one Frame allele from their parents and were therefore viable foals. -
Yeah honestly not sure how I did it but they make some beautiful show horses now.

I've had my share of homozygous frame foals die. It's heartbreaking, especially if you paid for straws!
I had previously asked if the splash lethalities were still in effect and never got an Answer. I'm glad to have this chart again.
