Ice foals in auction
-
Hey..
I was parooosing through the public auction catalogue and there are some untested ice foals up.
Just wondering the rules on Ice and if a non ice owner can bid on one.
I want to play by the rules!DivineDreams ~ 30908

No, the ice genes are named/numbered: Ice 1, Ice 2, Ice 3, etc.
-
No. There are different ices. Ice1 to ice13 (with a few missing) Confluence means any ice genes that are below ice9 can be sold in the auction
-
They arent genetic tested...DivineDreams ~ 30908

If the ice horses are intact and you intend to use them for breeding, make sure you take a good careful look at their pedigrees before you bid on any, especially if the price is higher. A lot of the intact ice horses you see in the auctions are very poor quality and are poorly bred. There are lots of high quality intact Ice horses out there but you don't generally see them in the public auction. Now, you can often find lots of nice spayed/gelded Ice show prospects with good PTs in the auction, but quality intact ones are much harder to find there.Thanked by 1AtA

If they are mine I would suggest not bidding on them. All the ones I did test were spayed/gelded, I just ran out of foundation studs to breed all the mares I'm creating to to push the numbers towards that million. Things were hectic yesterday, and it looks like I missed breeding advice on most of them. Sorry. Every one that did get breeding advice on was spayed or gelded, so please be careful. Tried to run them through advice, and it won't let me because of the auction. :( Really, I wouldn't advise bidding on any foals I put in auction.

Sounds good! Thank u! I may be interested in purchasing an ice stallion in the near future!
-
Ok, tried agin, and for some reason they let e do the testing! Thanks everybody for not bidding on them untested, because that would make an uncomfortable situation. A handful of them passed testing, but I still wouldn't suggest bidding on them. They are uneven, 2g quality, and there are better ices out there. I was so frantic getting the horse bred and in auction yesterday that I didn't think that much. I usually wouldn't let intact ices in auction like that.If they were good I'd find homes for them in manners that I will know they will be safe.
