I suggest reading through the FAQ. This game can get a bit complicated and has it's own quirks, so most questions are answered by it. ((There is a miss print which is in the process of being fixed about the price of breeding advice and breeding inspection. BA is free).

There is also an account dedicated to giving new people like you two free show horses! Most of the money made in HJ is by your daily bonus, which you get from the total amount of points a horse has. The more points a horse has, the more money it brings in. The horses from Avaliable to Adopt are proven show horses which should give you a daily boost. The link below is a horse search of all the horses available, sorted by all time points and younger than 15 years of age (at 17 they can age out of the game). Find two that you like and send a private message to the barn.
