Breeders Clubs
-
I think I've been doing pretty well figuring things out here but something I haven't bothered with yet is Breeders Clubs, I don't entirely understand what they are.
What is the etiquette with clubs, is there one? Should I be signing my horses up to as many as possible or be picky about what I enter depending on what I want to breed? -
Breeders Clubs are a way to compete for ribbons and trophies (for the number 1 horse in a category each year). There is one for each Era and one for most of the colors and patterns. You may enter each horse in up to 4 of the clubs. If a horse is eligible for more than 4, you get to pick which ones to enter.
Each horse is automatically entered into the correct Era club. You can take horses out of clubs as well as enter them in the ones you choose.
There have to be at least 25 eligible horses in a category for awards to be assigned. All awards are entered on the horse's Records page above the list of shows. The first 250 awards that your horses earn are also added to your Public Stable Page.
Horses need to be entered into their clubs by the 27th of each month because the awards are make at roll-over to the 28th, game time.
During the game year, the records can be adjusted as horses are entered in the clubs and the standings change (I'm not sure exactly which ones this happens in), but awards are only handed out on the 28th.
The Breeders Clubs are mainly for fun and the prestige that comes with having your horses show up on the lists. I don't always get my horses entered by the 28th, I must confess.
There is no interaction between the owners in the clubs themselves, although you may find a Chat Room to request to join if you want to interact with other players who are breeding for genes you are interested in. The Breeders Clubs are simply a way to display the names and owners of horses that are doing well in breeding or showing.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
