Information About Collecting Eggs
-
I've had a couple requests for eggs for some of my mares and it's an aspect of the game that I haven't delved into yet. So, I have a couple questions about it.
1) From what I understand that you can pull eggs from a mare every five days, starting on the first. Can you pull an egg at the start of the month and then still use her for breeding or is it one or the other?
2) How does one go about pricing eggs? I realize pricing is fairly subjective and market driven but, how do they compare with other breeding methods? Are they generally priced similarly to straws?
This is the mare in question and I have no idea what would be a reasonable price and have mostly seen auction prices for straws to go off of:

Thank you! -
You can collect an egg every 5days but once you live breed her you can no longer collect eggs.
I have no idea on eggs prices though. I have brought a few Hom Snow eggs and was only charged 5k each but depending on the demand of eggs, etc you could probably get a lot more then 5k. Also depends on how much they want to pay :)●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

Edit: paradise posted as I was typing lol
You can pull a single egg and still breed but one you mass flush a mare she is done for that season. Eggs price higher than straws because they are more expensive to pull, and there is less supply. A stud can do 50 live covers and 500 straws where as a mare gets 1 egg every 5 days and either a live cover or a mass flush(8-14? Eggs). Then tack on special genes pricing. As the great Ammit says, you can sell it for as much as someone will pay for it. -
Good information to know! I kept wavering between eggs being more expensive because there are fewer and less expensive because they aren't as practical to intact guarantee as straws. But, that does make sense.
Does a mare have to be pulled from the pasture to have eggs collected? Logically, that would make sense, but you never know! -
Yes. She must be in barn for the "procedure'
