Do studs go "out of style"

In recent seasons my studs have brought in a lot of money but this season they sold a very little amount of coverings and some of them didn't sell any at all. It's almost like this season everybody lost interest in them, so I was wondering if certain colors and genes go out of fashion?

Most definitely. Just like with anything else there are "trends" on this game. If your stud doesn't have the trending genes he will be used a lot less----
