We have new HAJ year, so our horses are aging! Here can you post your foals that became adult etc.

I don't know why I'm posting this topic, but I want to share how does my Sabino stallion look. Last HAJ year he was just cream with some white - now he has some beautiful dapples!

Here's one of my young stallions.

I don't know what is his color (I only know that it's ice with dun), but these patterns and this gray mane and tail are lovely.

If I had to guess the it's the silver gene giving him his gray tail and mane but that's just my guess :)

Several were already adulted before I opened them... somebody's been peeking in my barn ;)

His tail is white from splash but he's likely got hetero GP too. And I love DP on wild bay.

Not a baby, but regarding horses aging and changing...
I don't like varnish and took great pains to eliminate varnish from all of my appy lines before the appy revamp, but I'm letting a bit in now, to see if I like it. So this is a foundation mare from last year who is now 4, and I just noticed she has wild bay and decided to keep her, but she is soooo varnishy. Still can't decide.

Pine, I'd say silver buckskin dun but might be bay (is there cream in his line?). Love the shading on his face.

Abbey if you think about it. Im no hero ( the kp and satin filly) looks like a grey that is chimeric, ( those horses that are a solid color but have splotches of different colors)

fj, I have a couple more bay appys with the varnish that I will probably unload. They're not wild bay, though.

I'm just breeding willy nilly on the color and just adding anything I think is neat to my breeding. Right now though I think I need to slow down and work on breeding my herd and dropping some stock. Most of what I have is foundation. This will be my first serious breeding season since now I have a better understanding of how to test and cull what I need to do to create better offspring. I have 1 2nd gen horse I'm dieing to breed but he's still to young.

He was Number 2 Highest PT Of the Year Year 29 Era 3 Breeders Club and he's one of my highest grade test stallions. I'm hoping he makes really good babies.

Do you mean alter? Yes, that is one of the things I have learned. I'm holding him though because I have a few 2nd gen mares that are coming up with him and I wont have a stallion to breed them to. That's why I say my first real breeding season will be this one because I have my foundation stock in the pasture ready to go and I will use those babies to basically restart my herd and sell off my remaining horses that I was learning with :)

I don't think people alter horses who paper the same as sire... only if they don't compare better.
