Since the 11th anniversary celebration has started, I have come a heck of a long way toward getting a basic upgrade. I am currently at 21 IVs. 9 IVs would set me back 112500 hbs. Ideally, I'd like to go ahead and gain that last push before the 14th so I can enjoy my pasture foals without overfilling my barn for once. With only my daily show bonus and the weekly allowance, I'll reach 42k on the 13th. Which leaves me with 70500 hbs left to scrounge. Here are my options... And a little math:
1) Selling off my Expro DHH creates - I've attempted to do this, but interest seems to be low. Provided tomorrow's is a decent one, I'm going to create the horse and see if I'll get more interest. However, starting with today's create (which is up for forum auction if you want to go check that out) I would need a profit of 10k on each create. Which means I'd need a minimum bid of 12500hbs on every Expro HH until the 13th.
2) Sell my Candy Appleloosa RS - She was one that I made intending to sell but feel in love with. I've already got a few brindle appaloosa mare RS but being able to add another to my little group makes it hard to part with her. Not to mention how seldom Candy Appleloosas are gained. Its a very real possibility that I never see another brand spanking new one. At the same time, I'm pretty sure I can get what I need if I put her up for forum auction. I can't enjoy my special horses to the fullest if I don't have space or funds to breed and test them. so I'm flecked either way with this.
3) Completely defeat the purpose - Before the celebration, my plans were to breed my good stock for the full 30 day pasture bonus then throw all the rest of my mares into the pasture and sell off the foals as auction fodder. As right now I have 6 RS, 2 TNP, 1 proven good breeder, and one still on her trail run, all with a 20 day pasture bonus and a TNP Stallion ready to go. If I go a head and pop my pasture with those horses, I probably get a good price for those foals. Unfortunately I would need a profit of 7k and some change on each of them. So to cover testing and gain the needed profit, I would need foal to go for at least 8150 hbs. They'll be good foals but I don't see them being that good. If I can throw another batch of lesser mares in an breed them it might make up for it. (Though I think with my space constraints, I don't think breeding second batch would be possible until the first wave of foals are sold)
I've already gutted my barns for all the undesirable low point horses. I really cant spare more without taking a hit to my show bonus. If there's an option I missed, let me know. I'm all ears. Without doing something to supplement my hbs, I won't see that upgrade until July 2nd. So if I can get it sooner, that's all the better for me.Be not afraid to ask questions. My barns are full from pasture foals, so I haven't gotten any of the exper herd helpers so far. If you hang on to them I can pay 20k each for them after I get a new barn, which should be early next week.
-
I wish I could but I only have one slot open in my barns. I'm selling horses as I get them. However I managed to keep enough slots open on my secondary account to hold onto them. I can sell those to you since that account needs some hbs love too.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

Why is the 14th so important to you? You can breed your pastures manually any time. It means a little less time to sort foals the longer you wait, but it sounds like you have enough time to wait for your bonus before the end of the year, even if you might not have long before the end.Thanked by 1ObsidianKitsune

The 14th is the autobreed day and while I can remove my stallion to avoid it, I'm 95% I'm going to be too distracted by RL to remember to do so. I'll have a grand total of ten foals to sort through. Not much time needed there. The 14th is the ideal date, not a must date but once I hit that breed pasture button, no matter what time, I'm stuck with an overfilled barn until I get more space. That's means no more celebration, no more showing for my primary barn, and no more breeding for the rest of my herd. I'd like sometime to enjoy this month of celebration while I can.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

Why don't you do a clear out of your stallion barns and sell some of the ones you don't want? I took a peek in your barns and I counted 11 intact 2G stallions and 9 intact 3G stallions. At this point, you don't have nearly enough mares to require that many stallions.
-
I haven't assessed their breeding abilities. I was in the process of doing that when my Huntandjump notebook disappeared. Upwards of 30 auctioned foals were recorded in that notebook and now I get to start over. The ones you see gelded are the ones I managed to get through.
I don't have the funds to comparison test any of them either.
But actually since I posted this. I'm seriously considering auctioning that Candy Appleloosa. I started taking a closer look at her trying to find any flaws that could convince me to part with her and I found several.

I did a search for all the stallions you own and sorted them by AFPT. 4 of your stallions have a APFT number showing in the search results and the rest of them don't. I think the search is only sorting the 4 that have a visible AFPT and the rest are probably random, but I don't know.

It's weird though because the AFPT number by G2 Wessen is 9.2 but when I look at his foals he only has 1 living foal and it has a 10.4 PT. Perhaps his AFPT was calculated before you culled and auctioned off his lower quality foals? If his AFPT really is 9.2 I would absolutely snip him since that's really low for a second get stallion.
G2 Wessen -
Yeah those aren't accurate. I had recorded the foals info in my notebook and auctioned the goals rather than clog my barn with less than stellar foals. Also those amount sometimes update, sometimes don't. As far I understand it, AFPT shouldn't even be showing for free accounts but no one has been able to provide answers as to why they showing up.
I've been doing everything by hand and multiple greetings and I'm very tired of doing it that way.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

I think G2 Wessen was due for one more breeding. I can't remember. I like to give each of my horses 3 chances at least. More if their partner proved to be a poor breeder after the fact.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

Good point I forgot that AFPT shouldn't really be showing up for anyone who doesn't have a premium upgrade. I have a basic upgrade and AFPT sometimes shows up for some of my stallions if I view them in the search.
You do have a few inconsistent stallions so depending on how much you care about that you could cull those. You also have a few WB stallions and if you're looking to breed drafts only you could sell the WB studs to WB breeders. -
If push comes to shove I may just do that Sunday. That way I have a little bit more of a buffer against the showbonus I stand to lose by selling them.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

As an aside, the reason AFPT shows up for some of the horses is because at some point they've been owned by someone with a premium upgrade. It won't be updated after they leave the premium account but from what I understand, the score they had when they left the account just...stays lol.
-
But my horses were never part of a premium upgrade. That's the mystery.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

Yeah, I can see AFPT in the search results for both of my nanotech studs. I bought one from another player, but the other one I created myself and I only have a basic upgrade. My Stars and Stripes boy has an AFPT showing as well and I created him too.
