Special HH giveaway
-
So I finally got lucky enough to have gotten a special HH this morning. I'm in a particularly generous mood today, so I'll be giving away a create for a Silver Pocket Watch.
Rank Special: Silver Pocket Watch
All things come and go but this silver pocket watch, it has endured. It comments on the slow trickle of time with a simple mantra. Tick, Tick, Tick. All horses will be true breeding Silver Black Splash. They are homozygous for black, silver and splash but may also have other rare genes.
So now you're all probably wondering what hoops you'll have to jump through and whatnot, but it's simple. To be entered you must provide the following
1. ID#
2. Mare/Stud Bone Age etc...
3. Favorite animal EXCLUDING horses
4. Funny horse/animal story (optional)
5. Pick a number 1-100. Numbers may one be used once so no repeating.
Good Luck!
Oh and I'll end this at midnight =) -

4. Well, hopefully this story will count since it's not TOTALLY about animals. Get ready for my #1 embarrassing story. About 6 years ago my husband was giving away some furniture to our mutual friend. Our friend just moved in to these apartments (important info for the story: it's an apartment complex with a few different buildings in the complex) about a month before and I went to the apartment once before. I was working so my husband went ahead and headed to our friend's place before me. When I got off work I told him I'll head right there. I pulled up to their apartment building, parked me car, and started walking to the apartment door. Since we were really good friends and I knew my husband was already there, I didn't knock on the door. I just walked in. Everyone in the apartment stopped what they were doing and stared at me. I didn't recognize any of them, thinking our friends were throwing a get together (they did often), I walked further into the house. There were about 6 people standing there, staring at me. Not saying anything. Then I see a blue Pit Bull walking up to me, tail wagging. My friend's do not own a dog. It was at that moment I realized I just walked straight into some stranger's house. I looked at everyone in the eyes, said "uh - I'm in the wrong house", BACKED out (yes, BACKED out, didn't turn and leave...I slowly backed out), and shut the door. it was silent for 3 seconds and then I heard everyone in the house BUST out laughing. At that point someone else walked to me and asked if someone was in there. I looked at her said said "I have no idea. I just walked in the wrong house". I left. Our friend's building was the next one. Whoopsy!!

4. One time in the winter I was going to get my pony from his paddock with a couple friends. He goes out with a variety of horses including a 40 year old gelding (I know ancient right :-O ). As I was taking my pony Eric out the old man scooted out the gate! We didn't have a halter to get him back in so we made a wall with our horses to keep him from getting any farther and pulled him back in with the lead rope around his neck. He's such a spicy old man :))

I was at an event with my young horse and he was pretty excited. Whilst doing his boots he leant round and nipped me on the bum! It hurt and I was pretty cross with him but couldn't help laughing, and we got on with our prep. I led him over to the warm in in front of everyone, mounted, leant over and checked my girth etc, then started off in rising trot. I noticed a weird cold sensation on my skin but ignored it. It was only when I stopped to check my girth before I went in that another competitor told me I had a hole in the back of my breeches and you could see my pants (bright green, predictably!). I was mortified but we really needed the show experience so I went in for my test anyway. I've got some great photographs where you can see the hole- oops!

@Kolladee Oh man I feel your pain. I had a similar thing happen a couple of years ago. I was running at a barrel race that happened to be during a county fair. I was having a pretty good run until my horse tripped coming out of the third barrel and I got pitched forward. The top of my tank top got caught on the saddle horn and before I knew it I had managed to flash the entire crowd. Needless to say I don't run in tank tops anymore, lol.Thanked by 1Kolladee Stud

4. I think its funny, but not everyone will. Anyway, I used to own a little Arabian stallion, gorgeous, gentlemanly, kind. At 14 hands, he wasn't that tall, but I'm short so he was perfect. He had excellent cow sense, athletic, intelligent, so a perfect choice to breed to a cowy AQHA mare for a future cow horse. The funny part? The mare was absolutely huge (compared to him) and the first heat cycle, he couldn't "reach". The next cycle, he herded that big mare around the pasture until he had her standing in a dip in the ground. He was able to get the job done then. My dad (owner of the mare) didn't believe me until he saw it later the same day.

4. The very first night we had Poppy (Persian X kitten) there was a thunderstorm rolling in. Me and partner were absolutely besotted by her and followed her around and kept fussing her. At some point she absolutely needed to go, she really needed to poop and we were nearby in the bedroom keeping an eye on her. To give you an idea of how small she was, she topped in at 700g at 9 weeks old. She was a super tiny kitten and being away from momma first time we didn't want her to be too stressed! Welp, when she going thunder struck at the same time and she went flying from the litterbox, turd and all. Turd just flew straight from her butt and slipped in under the bed. Cue, a very scared poopy kitten and me and my fiance having to take apart this low frame slay bed to try and dig out the worst cat turd of my life. 10/10 would have Poppy as a kitten again.

3. Cougars! They're so awesome, I've always loved them (and all big cats really)
4. My dog used to be super shy about going to the bathroom in our yard; she'd spend forever finding her spot and would then get in position, but she'd get this super embarrassed look on her face and would be looking around to see if anyone was watching. And if she saw anyone, she'd immediately stop going and look for another spot - she'd even stop in the MIDDLE of going, so she'd sometimes get these little pieces of poop stuck on her because she stopped mid-poop. And of course those just embarrassed her even more and she often couldn't get them off herself so she'd wander around trying to tuck her butt in under her body to hide the poop hanging on lol.

4. This is something that happened to my friend and not me but it's still pretty funny. When she was riding IHSA at college, the owner of the barn where the team practiced had a pet goat that lived at the barn. I'm not sure if she did anything with the goat or if it was just a barn mascot. Anyway, a different girl at the barn had just bought a used soft top VW beetle convertible and she drove it to the barn that day. While she was riding, another girl came running up and told her to come look at her car quick. She got off the horse and went outside and there was the goat sitting on top of her car and chewing on the soft top! My friend showed me a picture and the goat had chewed a pretty big hole. The barn owner gave the goat away to a farm down the street after that.

So i finish the foot.. just as im about to put the foot down the horse kicks me.. so one foot 2 people gpt kicked! Lol.. another time iwas holding a horses head. Lisa sprayed a would with cetrigen spray.. she was holdong the horses tail.. the horse took off. I was running with the head not letting go lisa with the tail.. we ran/got dragged more then 100 metres before the horse stopped. But we won! Lol. We were sore the next day!

4. At one of the barns I used to ride at there was a 30 year old thourghbred gelding. He was the sweetest thing but had a big interest in the mares. Somehow he ended up mounting almost every one of the mares on the property! Apparently everything did not get "snipped" off! One of the times he did that he was wondering around the property while the farrier was shoeing a mare. The gelding came over, we thought to say hello, but instead mounted the mare while the farrier was basically underneath her shoeing her. Let's just say the farrier was not happy at all!

4. When I was a teenager, I volunteered at a local science museum in their live animal center. The animals there were either surrendered exotic pets or rehabbed wildlife that couldn't be released, and most were part of the education program. In the "Mammal" room, there were large hutch-style cages for rabbits (as well as an opossum and a couple of skunks) and you had to crawl into them to clean them out thoroughly.
The "Mammal" room was also home to several parrots, since the "Bird" room was actually really just for birds of prey. The parrots usually spent their day with their cage doors open, and they could climb on top of their cages where they had little jungle-gym type places to hang out. There were also a could of stand-alone perches. One of the newer parrots was a large Blue and Gold Macaw named Zoot. He was very feisty, and like many surrendered parrots had some behavioral issues from being abandoned by his family. Zoot in particular didn't like to be handled (he would bite, HARD) and in general was just a pretty ornery fellow.
One day I was in the Mammal room and had crawled into the last rabbit hutch that was closest to where the parrot cages were to clean it out. I was the only one in the room at the time.. or at least the only human, I should say. As I cleaned, I watched as Zoot climbed down from the perch where he had been sitting and hopped over to the hutch where I was. I thought maybe we were having a breakthrough and he was coming to say hello... but instead, he swung the door of the hutch closed. Before I could turn around and crawl to the door to open it back up, Zoot twisted the latch to lock it. I was trapped! Zoot was quite pleased with himself apparently, and climbed back up on his perch and started to do a little dance. I had to holler multiple times before another volunteer who was working in one of the other rooms finally heard me and could come release me.

4. So this might not be that funny, but anyways,
We were going to a horse show up in Tampa, and we had 2 horses in the trailer (we have one of the slant load ones). My horse, Sally, was in the front, and my friends horse, Amira, was in the back. Since Amira was in the back, she had to get off first, but she was scared to get off. So we decided to try to push her out but using the middle divider in the trailer. As soon as we unlatched the middle divider, Sally came backing out of the trailer all by her own, she backed right past Amira who was still in the trailer, and all the way out. We have a very narrow trailer though, so there really wasn't enough room for both of them to be next to each other, but she somehow managed to do it. I guess other people saw this, because a bunch of people just walking by started laughing. After all that had happened, they still couldn't get Amira out of the trailer I thought that was hilarious, but I bet no one else does haha
Well, since I talked about one horse, I gotta be fair and talk about the other ;)
My other horse, Elliott, he's a baby (just turned 5) and he's always getting into trouble. We board him, and my trainer told us that one night while he was turned out, he got loose and was in the hay room all night, eating all the hay. When my trailer checked the pasture, all the gates were closed and locked, and there weren't any broken boards. On one side of the fence, there's a walkway with just a lead rope tied across it. My trainer guesses that he must've somehow gotten down on his front 2 knees, got under the lead rope, and somehow got through the very narrow walkway, and got into the hay. The walkway is very small, and somehow a 16 hand, very chubby (or if you wanna call it muscular ;) ) horse somehow got through!

4. I was jogging with my very friendly Labrador and the neighbors were having some kind of get together on the front lawn. Well naturally my dog wanted to go say hi so she crossed right in front of me which left me sprawled on the pavement and her crashing through the neighbors' party. I had to try to catch her while bleeding from my knees and elbows and then apologize for the food she has manage to steal/knock over.

4. One of my first dogs was a golden retriever who was born with detached retinas, so she was completely blind. After developing glaucoma we ended up having to remove both and the next year, I spent a year at a school where I could take her with me. My uncle in Tucson, AZ, graciously agreed to dog sit for the year. However, being from the swampy South, I failed to consider one important thing before I drove up to my uncle's front door: there are a lot of cacti in Arizona. Not a good match for dog who finds her way by touching things with her nose! Luckily, she managed to figure it out and kept her nose needle-free. She was a fantastic dog, but it was a real face-palm moment!
