Chocolate Palomino's
  • Finding the right horses, most likely to make a chocolate palomino. With the genes needed!
  • Your going to want to look for sty or S+ palomino's They need to have homo sooty genes. Then I would breed them to a liver stallion. That should give you what your looking for. That's how I got mine. I'm hoping to get enough that I can start a herd of just chocolate palomino's.
  • The surest way to get them is to breed homozygous sooty cremellos to homozygous sooty chestnuts with one or both also having DP. If you join the DP buddy chat, I have a homozygous DP cremello stallion up for stud to the group. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=477769 He is guaranteed to produce chocolate palominos when bred to SstySsty chestnut mares.

Breeding sooty palominos to liver chestnuts gives a 25% chance if the liver is heterozygous DP and a 50% chance of chocolate palomino if the liver is homozygous DP.
I was jllewis on the old forum.

  • I'm looking forward to tying these, and I hope they have these horses in this game, Have never seen any before. If you have tell me!

If you want to breed for a chocolate palomino here are some options!
Cremello x Liver Chestnut (or dark chestnut)

    Cremello x Flaxen Liver Chestnut

There's probably a million other combination's, but basically you want that dark gene with the creme mixed in.
  • Basically you want the dark gene, with the creme mixed in.
  • Hi Juli! Haven't seen you around before! Welcome!

  • Juli you answered your own question...?

But yeah, you need at least three darkening genes (easiest to get two sty and one dp), one cream and two ee. Here's my Chocolate palomino appy boy, he is het dp.
