What causes the Orange mane and tail?

I was just wonder what gene would cause this filly to have such a bright orange mane and tail. Her parents do not have even a little orange in their manes or tails..I have seen other liver horses have orange mares and tails but I can't figure out what gene is causing the Orange. But for some reason I really like the Orange on livers only

Well, since liver is stysty chestnut with a dash of DP, and that filly appears to have panagre as well, I would guess it's just the chestnut showing through. I get those a lot, with and without the roan.

Wow I love his coat! I've never seen orange mane and tail on a black liver it's awesome looking :x edit: my filly is a black liver but her roan coat does not let her look like a black liver

Black chestnut with pangere is one of my favorites, and the roan just makes everything better----

This stallion used to get a really orange mane some seasons, looks pretty cool I reckon!
