I've not long since started playing and I bought my first horse for 1000 and I have to say it's one tough cookie. They're solid things and actually move more horse like than previous games I've played like Red Dead Redemption. The only downside to their life like ways is that you can ride them vertically up a mountain, this certainly helps with the game, definitely isn't making the horses life like though. I say this but this game has cat people, orcs, giants and dragons so anything goes I guess.

Does anyone else play? I'm a console gamer so I got it for the PS4.

There is a mod that makes the horses faster and tougher. Its merely called "better horses." It also makes it where the horse will be more likely to run away in battle rather than rush into the fray.

I never said they were perfect haha. Mine has just ran off a cliff and i only have 27 coin left. In am not making the mistake of stealing a horse again, the first (and last) time i did that the horse tried to kill me.

Haha skyrim horses have a few glitches :) Elder scrolls horses aren't too bad either :)

I also like how the carriage drivers say "gee up, there" as it's quite a common greeting in my home town of Hartlepool.

Those are some nice Moon Walking skills, haha! I had a few issues where my horse (in Skyrim) would be walking all normal, and then suddenly, I am about 20 strides back from where I was a second before. I got real tired of that bug, and started fast traveling everywhere.

Buying horses is a waste of money in Skyrim, IMO. I don't bother. If you go join the Dark Brotherhood (and survive that quest line), you end up with Shadowmere, who is significantly better than the horses you can buy. He can be killed, but he'll respawn eventually.

And if you have the Dawnguard DLC (which was included in the SSE version they just released), you can eventually get your hands on Arvak, who is the only horse better than Shadowmere - Arvak is unkillable - largely 'cause he's already dead. ;) And he's much more handy because he can be summoned, so if you left him on the other side of a pass somewhere, you can get him to you.

Until I get one of those two, I simply use the carts to get to the town nearest my goal and hike it from there.

Oh, and the Dawnguard quest line will also introduce you to Durnehvirr, whom you can also summon to your aid...if you can earn his respect by defeating him. He's not an easy battle.

This made me laugh. I wanna play skyrim now just to play with the horses lol. Although from what Ive heard, its a really fun game.

Durnehviir was so worth the effort its not even funny. Also you guys laugh at the horse's derpness but I have avoided many a hostile area by climbing over the mountains with my spider horse.

I buy the horses just to collect them. I'd really like a mod where you can have a stable to store all your horses.

I also fast traveled once, my game hiccupped and I ended up standing in my bed in one of my houses with my horse sitting in the bed with me. You'd think I had a crazy night with too much drink.

I loved the Skyrim horses! Their bugs made them so lovable. I also collected a horse in every town I went in. Mainly because all of mine ended up jumping off of cliffs and dying.. Am I really that bad of an owner? :(

I've just settled with Shadowmere for now. Working on completing alllll of the game before I get any mods. The only exception is a 'cheat' I did to make Meeko an immortal companion. So worth it. A little puppy to follow me on my adventures and I don't have to worry about destroying him with my big sword :D

lol Rhythm, you *can't* complete all the game. There's too much to it, you'll be playing for years.

Besides, no mods means no Inigo, and he is simply the best follower ever. ;)

I can try! It's just how I play games :D. I do everything, collect everything, read everything, etc. I'm almost done, surprisingly. Just a tinyyy bit more exploring and I think I have missed a handful of quests (that I can do). Oh and a bit more in professions/skill points, but that will take ages so I'm not focusing on that.

Oh dear. I tried but the game devolves into go to location A and defeat enemy B or retrieve meaningless worthless item C after you go through all the guild and story missions. I've never did the final bit because I had wanted to finish decorating all of my homes at least.

I've just purchased breezehome! It takes forever to get the coin together. I was told if I purchased kids bedrooms that I can adopt street brats, is it worth adopting kids? I feel like I shoukd travel the world alone killing dragons and things.

I kept her alive and she sends you on quests later on in the Companions Story Line. I'm not sure what happens if she's dead

I decided to adopt to kids, 2 girls, can't remember their names but they're current mad at me because I killed their pet skeever. I've not long since started the companion story line, this horrible inconvenience called work keeps getting in the way of my gaming.

The new Zelda is the best game I have ever played in my whole life. We have over 160 hours on it and that is an absurd amount of time for our house.

I actual lost Lydia to a glitch while fighting a giant my first play through. He knocked her up into the air and she never came down. Didn't see her for the rest of the game.

Also I always played on normal difficulty so my companions couldn't die. They just stop and take a knee when their health is too low. Still never used them because I got tired of them running in front of me in battle.

I haven't played Zelda because I only play Xbox one. I am waiting for the Red Dead Redemption game to come out. The horses on there are pretty realistic.

I've had that happen to me a few times, you get a lovely view of Skyrim.

I'm an all rounder gamer, Nintendo, Playstation, Xbox, Pc, online (obviously) and phone. I can't wait for the new Red Dead to come out, I might even get xbox live just before the release.

I've got 3 days off work, supposed to be showing the dogs but my greyhound has sprained a toe, so i've been playing it quite a bit

@Timber - try different followers. The tanks - like Lydia - will run in front of you, but archers or mages will usually let you take the lead.

Aww poor puppy :( my Dane recently hurt himself. I haven't seen a dog sprain a toe so that has to hurt!

It's awful when they hurt themselves. This is how she did it, running round wanting Odie to chase her.

Its apparently a common problem with greyhounds and especially common when they zoom around like bloody nutters. Luckily the poodle is made of stronger stuff and can survive skidding over.

Haha Danes are the same way! My Odin ripped his hair off his leg and has a swollen paw lol he's always getting hurt
