How does portrait re-roll work?
-
I was wondering if anyone had any before and after examples of their horses that they re-rolled the portrait of.
I'm curious to see the effect.
I understand it changes the appearance of the horse at random, but how drastically?
It is regulated? Does the coat/mane etc stay the same shade or will that change? Will it bring different characteristics to the forefront?
Thanks in advance,
Dringler -
It would be tricky to show you a before and after picture, because once a horse's image has been rerolled, the new appearance is what the game stores. Basically, the image generator uses a mathematical formula to create the color and pattern variations based on the genetic code of the horse in question. There is a fair amount of randomness. Sometimes it will barely look like anything has changed. Other times there will be quite a dramatic difference.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Here you go! I rerolled the picture of 5 different horses 2 times (first picture is what they originally looked like and then the 2 after are the rerolls). I think how much they change ultimately depends on what genes they have.
