I got another GP
-
I got a GP colt, thanks Abbey Road, he is a descendant of one of your stallions. But double darn, he was gelded. He only papered the same as his sire anyway. He is a cutie though, and hopefully he will earn me a lot of points.

He's very cute!

Good looking foal!De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Thanks Cheers, and SandyCreek!

Yay! I am currently keeping all of my GP gelds and spays since there are so few horses in the categories for that club. I love the way his pedigree looks with all the dark dun! I sorta wish I hadn't rerolled Comet, he looked very much like your mare.
-
What does GP stand for please? I haven't had much sleep but I have tried to work it out, and failed.
-
GP stands for Gulastra Plume. It is a non-testable gene that gives horses a tail that is white from the bottom. It is a real phenomenon, going back to an Arabian stallion named Gulastra who showed it.
It has to be homozygous to show completely, although buckskin horses that are heterozygous for GP will have a light streak in the mane and some lightening of the tail. I think that horses have to have a dominant extension and a dominant agouti gene for it to show, as well.

As I was reading this and thinking about how many of my many questions you have answered- most of them- I was like, I love this woman. Hehe. Thanks Sandy.
What is it called when the tail is black to white? I'm pretty sure I've had a few horses come out like that. (with a white tail or dual coloured tail) -
That's a function of a splash or sometimes a Kit gene. GP often looks grey/silver, not as white.

You're very welcome. I enjoy answering questions for newer players. I'm not always right, but someone usually comes along to correct me when I make a mistake. :DDe gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Abbey, I did a reroll on my Bielas Antique, by your Comet. He kinda did the same as Comet. I liked his color in his image better before I did the reroll. This is after: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=238078
So, I didn't do a reroll on his sister, Antique Comet: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=217100
Or his dam, Antique Carousel: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=208307
I like the girls color a lot. Both the gelding, Comets And Antiques I got this season with GP, and his older full sister, Antiques And Antiques is also GP: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=263843
They are from Bielas Antique and Antique Comet. I will also keep all my GP geldings and spays if I get any more. Same with my homozygous and heterozygous brown horses. -
Sometimes I wish there was an "Undo" on the reroll button :)
-
Oh yeah, that would be nice. :) After rerolling him, I am much more careful on which ones I do reroll. I did one of my brown horses also, and liked her better before I rerolled her also. But I can say, the majority of my rerolls have been great :D
