Spring is here in full force (at least for those of us in the north). We are celebrating with a sale. Barns, pastures and GM tokens are 20% off till the first of the month.
Snowflake is now in the GM lab, also till the end of the month. Price is 10 tokens to add to a foundation. Lined horses who missed the gene can add it for 1 GMT. This is your last chance at snowflake for sometime, as I will not be selling the gene again for a long while.

Drat! Just had to spend $600+ plus for an old rescue dog dental work bill! I'm going to have to wait til my next paycheck comes through! Ok, that's only a week from tomorrow, but I want stuff NOW!

Okay. I'm going to ask a dumb question. What does "lined horse who missed the gene" mean? Thanks!

Quick and dirty answer: If you breed a horse with one copy of the gene to a horse with one copy of the gene, there is a chance that the foal could get both copies (and you could SEE the color/pattern) or it could only get ONE copy (and you couldn't see the color/pattern, but it might pass the color/pattern on to its offspring) or it could get NO copy of the gene at all. If the last two examples occur you can go to the GMT lab and pay to add the color/pattern, since the parents had it and the kid just lucked out. It is cheaper than buying the gene for a foundation horse and you can only do it with horses that have parent(s) who carry the gene.

So I have this horse, http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=837572 , his father has snowflake but it doesn't. I tried to gene mod it but it won't let me.

he has one copy of
snowflake from his dad , his mum does not carry the snowflake gene so he cant get one from her. He has to get one from both parents plus have lp to show it, he can produce snowflake foals if he is put to a mare who either has one or 2 snowflake genes.

@Ammit, what gene needs to be changed to add the snowflake to a 2g, 3g, or other lined Snowflake stock to make them Homozygous?

In the GMT lab, it shows the option to change the Snowflake gene pair. How do I know which one to correct to make her a homo snowflake? Is snowflake #1 or snowflake #2 that is to be corrected? -
His mother doesn't have snowflake, unless the GMT tattoo has been removed, or she got it naturally. Since the stud is definitely homozygous, Snowflake #1 can't be changed.
Also, if you're in the habit of testing already, I'd advise doing that before you make any big investments. :) -
Oh good heavens. Please excuse my messy mind. I got married just over a week ago; and my husband, his family, and I are having to go through some family issues. His grandfather is in the hospital with some disease that is attacking his spine and nervous system.

In that case, I'd still ask if you want to invest 2.5 million in a show horse if it were a snowflake gene you have to change. Clearly this girl is Homozygous snowflake, but it needs Lp (Appaloosa) to express. :) That's still 500k, though. :) If you buy your GMTs with game money. -
