Am I The Only One?
  • Is there any other National Riding Horse only breeders out there besides me?!
  • I was breeding them but switched to warmbloods
  • I breed riding horses and warmbloods. But yeah, there doesn't seem to be many. I was searching for some 2G riding horse mares a little while ago and hardly found any when I ran the search. If it wasn't for cheers's big dispersal sales, I would have none!

I don't breed them super exclusively though. I mix and match my RH and WB, and just go with whatever foals I get.
  • I think a few people do, but they tend to keep them inhouse I believe. I personally don't like the look of the riding horses, and prefer my big boned babies!

There might be a riding horse buddy chat if you guys ask. Could be all the good ponies and going for sale in that!
Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
    Prices are almost always negotiable.
  • There seems to be mostly warmblood breeders, I breed ponies and cobs and there isn't many that breed them either
  • Yes I'm a warmblood breeder all the way although I do have a few ridding horses I have a pearl Kitm ridding horse and a KP ridding horse and a few others but I don't breed for them only warmbloods for me
  • I have mostly switched my liver chestnut and rose gray lines to riding horses, although the higher gens are still primarily warmbloods. My patterned dun line I am likewise switching to cobs.
I was jllewis on the old forum.

    Stable ID 88
  • I've seen some riding pony breeders but less riding horse breeders. I breed sport ponies and once in a while I end up with riding ponies. I have one right now that I don't want to get rid of!
    Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Sport pony breeding farm focused on breeding, selling and showing quality ponies. Specializing in breeding brown, DP, dun, sooty+, & W8.
  • I mainly have Warmbloods simply because I found they are easiest to sell but I still have riding horses too as I think they are pretty
  • Seems to be the same story with Draft breeders. I've seen probably two other members that have identified themselves as draft breeders. I guess middle of the road is the most comfortable for people.

Also warmbloods previously had the most tack options. Seems Ammit is trying to rectify that now.

I will admit that I am thinking of taking on some riding horses when I've sorted my stables out better.
Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.
Striving to become a quality Draft breeder.
  • I'm trying to breed tall riding horses! I have a few that 17.2hh. Also random beautiful riding horses.
Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
  • This made me curious so I counted that I have 8 riding horse stallions I'm keeping and one in auction....then I have 5 draft stallions.

I have quite a few riding horse mares, too many for me to be motivated enough to count lol....and a handful of draft mares
  • I think that since the "Warmbloods" were the first type , there is just more out there being bred. Riding Horses, Drafts and Cobs are fairly new in the game, so really haven't picked up speed yet, but they will get there. I have a ton of warmbloods, but I've switched over to Drafts, and I'm still juggling the change, because I have a lot of warmbloods that I liked and want to breed the lines up to Drafts.
    Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms
  • I'm a draft breeder on HJ2. On HJ1, I breed riding ponies & cobs, but fazing drafts in slowly. I'm thinking about going to drafts on both, simply because I end up clicking the wrong HH for the wrong HJ. :(
    Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms
  • I have lines going for riding horses, drafts and warmbloods. I have different color goals with each group so it allows me to play with more fun genes.
    SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES
    Barn ID - 2358
  • I love seeing the different body types so I have all through mixed into my KP line.
  • I'm mainly ponies but I do have some riding horses and warmbloods.
  • I personally never pay attention to breed and have a mix. I think the majority are warmbloods for my foundations because I believe that's what the default is and I just never bother to specify anything different.
  • I'm another mostly riding horse breeder with a few whoops warmblood mares mixed in. I like the way they look - bit sad that they don't have as many tack options yet.
Breeding quality pintaloosa riding horses and ponies - and having fun with it!
  • I mostly breed riding ponies but have a few horses and would be open to more. I'd be down to join a buddy chat just for light horses/ponies.
  • I am a draft breeder, I also have warmbloods as they were the original so they are still in my herd .
  • I mainly breed riding horses, mostly in-house. I have a few nice studs that I put public though. Slowly getting into drafts.
  • I breed predominantly riding ponies, but I do get a few riding horses, but for now I'm just trying to increase my number of liver chestnut horses so I don't really care what is getting crossed in, some with my pearl lines (I only have like 3 horses for this so far).
21170 ~ Breeder of quality Liver Chestnut and Chocolate Palomino riding horses and ponies with unique twists. Specializing in Kit Promoter with fancy white patterns.
Coming soon ~ Snowflake, Nexus and Ice5
  • I do, on my other account, DoubleMash (server 2).

I agree it is difficult finding them but I am attempting to keep it mostly RH on that account, primarily to keep myself aware of which account I'm on!
    Thanked by 1AztecArabians
  • ROFL! DoubleMash - you ARE on server 2 right now! :))

  • Lol DoubleMarsh, I can see thats working well for you.
    Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms
  • I'm always having to look up and see if it says HJ or HJ2 in the address bar. That still doesn't keep me from clicking the wrong HH for the wrong account. :S
    Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms
  • Lol; the only way I can remember which server I'm on is that the background colours are different - HJ1 is bright blue and HJ2 is green. Plus I typically keep tabs open for both and I always keep HJ1 on the left and HJ2 on the right lol
  • Everyone can see that I NEVER remember if I am on my game play account, or the AtA account. Both on the same server, no color chage! Pfft! At least I remember where I live!
