Performance score ?
  • For a foundation what is good?
For a second generation horse, what is considered good?
  • Depends on your personal standards but for me I do it like this
    Foundation-9.5+
    2g-10+
    3g-10.5+
    4g-10.8+
    5g-11.2+
    6g-11.4+
    7g-11.6+

  • PT means nothing about breeding ability, only AFPT does. I have some with like a .4 PT score that are excellent breeders.
  • Like what Kassierae said. What you want to do, CabinWoodDrafts, if not ask about the pt but the AFPT. Unless you're asking about what pt people like their altered show horses to be at each generation...

PT only tells you about how a horse will train, but AFPT tells you roughly how good of a breeder your horse is, due to the quality of its babies. I believe that Ammit said a jump in .4 every generation is strict, but doable. Someone else asked this question and the post is floating around somewhere, but sadly I haven't bookmarked it....

I also remember reading that there's a response for horses with a PT between 0 and -1...chances are, if those horses are good breeders they could throw offspring with pts up to about 10 or higher!

  • Okay thank you! What's the apft, and how do I test that?
  • AFPT stands for average foal PT (score). You need at least 3 foals on the ground who have been PT tested to get an average. The game does this automatically in the search function, I've found.

If you want to do this yourself, add all of the foals PTs together, and then divide by the number of foals. eg there's three foals from one sire, pts 10.4, 9.6 and 10. Add together = 30. Divide by foals = 10. So 10 would be the sires AFPT.
