I was thinking he could be worth more because he is hezpearl and satin and sabino and his PT is 12.5 even bred and is superior to both parents and he has 5 bonus breeding points

I was meaning 15k as a bare minimum, should have made that more clear.
The average price for an RS is 25k since they range between 10k and 40k depending on popularity and rarity.

He is a gorgeous horse! I'd be willing to bid on him up into 60k and I only have 3 8th gen fillies so I can only imagine what someone with a larger herd would pay. I don't think it's to far fetched to see him go for around 100k to the right buyer.

You can't use the prices of rank specials to compare to lined horses. Apples and oranges. But he is a lovely boy.

You're right, he is an amazing horse but you're missing the point that Ammit is trying to make. A quality foundation (Rank Special) horse is not going to be priced the same as a quality lined horse, nor will they be used in you're breeding program the same way. Therefore you can't or shouldn't use them as a comparison for a lined horse.

They're saying you can't compare the price of a RS to a lined horse of quality. Your horse being the lined horse of quality. Both are good, yes, but both will be used slightly differently in a breeding programme so therefore you shouldn't compare the two. It'd be like comparing a...Well, I suppose a milking goat to a dairy cow. Both could be excellent at producing milk and giving birth to babies who produce a lot of milk, but you shouldn't compare the two price wise because they're not on equal footing (rs is a foundation and yours is lined).

In order to correctly gauge his worth, which will vary from person to person, you look at comparable horses and what they're priced at. Similar to real life, you wouldn't look at Olympic show jumpers when deciding how to price a barrel horse, would you?

I understand that, I was explaining why it doesn't make sense to price him or compare him to a RS. They aren't really that special, most are just perfect foundations. Some people like certain ones, that's why they go for a good amount when they first come out. What your colt has going for him is the satin, first and foremost, followed by the sb2. Pearl is pretty cheap and easy to get, but it sure is pretty. He's a nice colt. I wouldn't pay 100k for him, but then again I wouldn't pay 100k for much in this game. I'd say maybe in the ballpark of 50k or so, to the right buyer.

Never forget that just like in real life, a horse is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I wouldn't pay a dime for a gypsy vanner horse, not my type. But I would most certainly drop several thousand on a nice performance horse, such as a reining horse or a barrel horse. It's all relative, and you may get lucky and get someone who really wants him. Or you may not, it's all chance. My best advice would be to do a forum auction if you decide to sell him, that's where you'll get your best price.

@StarfireAcres is you can't find any in the sales like him it may be because they were already bought! Try searching all horses, find those as close to him as possible, and then check their record page for their sale history. I did this with a RS that I was going to sell, though I did get quite a range.....from about 1k to 100k....
