witch papered stud should i breed my mare to
-
what papered stud should I breed my mare to in the future? can I breed her to an 8 gen star papered stud or to an A papered stud? I just want the best results for her
Mystified Legacy Cpl sasa -
Her dad, granddads and great granddads are star so no reason why you should go down in quality. Besides I think by gen 8 people would geld any A papered studs they breed.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Oh ok thanks
-
So you think I should spay her?
-
Huh, didn't notice her papering until you pointed it out! I know most people would, as she does come from two gold mares, and with a pt of 11.7 she'd make a good show horse.
I feel like I should also mention that my account isn't 2 months old yet so maybe wait for someone elses opinion before acting on it?Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

@Starfire, I think being an 'A' papered G8 colt/filly would equate to about a Blue papered filly, which is backwards in quality, considering her dam is Gold*. If you breed her to some high papered Star* stallions, and repaper her, you may find she bumps up to a Gold* - she may have been a high 'A' stallion (but, still below a Star*).
However, the aim of the game is to strive for the best quality, so personally I would have spayed/gelded her, as she wasn't superior to her sire when she was a colt.
Most players expect horses to paper Gold*/Star* by about G6/7, so it is a given by G8 they must be at the highest quality. Colour isn't be the be all and end all when quality isn't there, merely a bonus when it is, however as I said, you may find she will repaper as a Gold* once you've bred her to some really good quality stallions, as their score/paper can go up or down based on her foals.
I have had an originally Blue papered mare bump up to a Gold* which was great!
She's lovely though :D :DAztecArabians

I'm afraid I would not recommend keeping her as breeding stock. Here is my reasoning.
I see this foal was born a colt and you switched genders, because he papered lower than his sire. His dam was a Gold papered mare bred to a Star papered stallion. Since the breeding ability scores of A papered stallions is approximately equal to Blue papered mares, you can probably expect that the foal would most likely paper Blue, a definite decline in breeding quality all around. By 8th gen, careful breeding should be producing mostly Star and Gold papered offspring, and the PT scores would be at least 12, I think.
She would be more valuable to your stable as a show horse than brood mare. If you look back over even her visible pedigree, without pursuing the whole thing, you will find that the majority of the mares are Blue papered, bred to Star stallions, especially on the dam's side. This is not the best way to advance a line (and I know you weren't responsible for any of it).
You could keep her intact and breed her for pretty show horses if you'd like. But it would take a lot of careful breeding over additional generations to get horses that would be advancing in breeding ability.
I had long pedigree horses like this when I first started playing and just barely got a few stallions onto the top 250 Leaderboard we had then, and none of my long pedigree mares ever made the list of the top 500 mares, so I speak from a bit of experience.De gustibus non disputandum. Sandy creek what if I give her a breeding boost would that help?
-
It will certainly push her quality up, wouldn't know if it was high enough to be Gold/Star though. Seeing you have spent all those GMT's on her it might be worth putting her in a pasture when she is of age with a good quality gen8 Star stallion and see if you can get some nice fillies to keep

Yea your right I think ill do that I have a 5%boosted pearl sasa 12.5 PT 8gen stud I want to breed her to

This is him
