Hello, I just got the basic upgrade (super excited!), so I am trying to use the data to make more informed decisions on which horses to keep. I have a couple 1G horses that failed their stallion/mare testing, so I was keeping them for show horses. But now I am getting their performance score testing back. I know it is a matter of opinion, but what score on the performance test is worth keeping as a show horse? Especially if they are young now and have no points to begin with.

I know that 9.9 is good for a foundation horse to have, so maybe anything around there or higher? The show horses that I have bought are in the 10's, but they're numerous generations. I would still keep them even if their pt isn't amazing. They may do well and get you a lot of points.

Ok, the one mare I am on the fence about is a 9.7. I'm just trying to save up for more barns.

Here's the main mare I am on the fence about. She is vaguely pretty but has a performance score of 9.7

I wouldn't considering her foal pt'ed pretty low. All your choice though. Depends on your preference.

Cant Decide
I know performance testing and breeding score are two different things, but I can't decide whether to keep this mare as a breeding horse. She is 9.4 PT, and inconsistent, but is one of my favorite colors.

If you don't mind breeding an inconsistent horse and just ant the colour, then go for it (so long as she has passed testing). Evaluate her later once you have some offspring from her.

When you have the luxury and space to keep some lower scoring horses, it isn't all bad. As long as they are in the top placings on a decent basis (anything but last place, really) they will get you points. High PT horses go through the lower levels pretty fast but there ARE points to be had down there in the trenches!

If you are a newer player I would reccommend aquiring older horses with higher all time points scores. That will give you the boost you need to get to the level where you can afford those lower PT'd horses.

For me, I keep everything that's been altered as a show horse. Low PT or not. Horses that have a high PT train longer and thus end up at higher levels, but you can have a very successful show horse that has a below 10 or even 9 PT score.

As long as they are still acquiring points, they will be beneficial to your showing bonus, which is probably the best source of income. And keep an eye on the auction in the next few weeks, as I'm sure there will be some nice pointed ones going through. Just keep an eye on their age so you don't waste money on a horse that will pass out of the game at rollover.

I kept everything at first as I had bought some extra barns and anything that was earning points was good. Now as the barns are filling, I just went in and put in the auction everything that had a PT of less than 9.5 in my show barns. As I restock with better show horses, I will raise that bar again. In the meantime while I have space every point is a good point,
