RS price guide
-
Is there anyway we could put our heads together and come up with a price guide for each RS?
Base it on color/rare genes, how often the RS has been available, how often it is released in a year, and just general popular demand.
Obviously this would just be a middle ground price to help new players sell freshly created RS. Older RS who have gained more points Nad everything would be higher and so on.
I understand why this wouldn't works but I always think of how helpful it would be.----

I think this is a great idea! It could at least provide a base line if nothing else :)

I've found out that cheap RS tend to go for around 20k, while the high end is 50k. 50k is also the mid-range for selling them when they have just been released.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

What I have been told in pricing horses is to look at horses similar to the one you are selling, and see what they sold for. This is easy to do with RS as you just need to search for the tattoo.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

I tend to buy rank specials for 30-35K for mares, a little more for a specific stallion I want to gmt, but usually stallions would be less. I struggle to sell fuel to the fire for 10K and Kings Ransom are more 150K because of all their genes, including DP, and they are very rare because they were only released once and a player tried hard to buy most of them. Diamond age would also be no where because they are a one time only release, or at least I would think so, but one was just voted down at 30k. :/ I think Freaky Friday would be a more expensive one too, not sure for how much though. Horses with bonus genes would be worth more to the right buyer of coarse, though. I've paid close to twice my normal amount for a RS horse with extra dun added on.

If I recall correctly, RS with DP and pearl never come up in rerolls so they may be worth more. I've never seen a Freaky Friday float around on the sales board for long.

DP, Pearl and specific timed ones don't come up on rerolls, Ammit said. I think that included Yule Log even though it doesn't have DP.

@ObsidianKitsune tattoo searching works well but some of the really fresh member may not in stand how it works yet. A sheet or chart would perfect as a recommended price for RS created in the last 3-4 weeks (I put a time range so that people don't get ripped off for selling a rare RS that has a lot of points behind them)
I've seen freaky Friday sell for 50k. I was hoping to grab at least 2 but it didn't work out. I've also seen other horses so for a range of 10-30k. With such a range of prices a list would be fantastic.
It'd be a shame if a new player struggling for funds sold a new RS create for only 10k and everyone else is selling for 40k
Does that makes sense.
It could be a lister that's simular to the full Rank Special list with descriptions. Only it would have the horses title and then maybe a quick click on when and how often it is released, what genes make it desirable and so on
Edit
I also saw the post about the RS that was down voted. It's what kicked into finally making this suggestion. I've had the idea for awhile now and thought that it was maybe against the rules or something since no one else had said anything about it.----

hm...maybe it is a very good idea then. I tend to just roll around the game for a while, reading the FAQ and what not (which is why I say I started a day later than the game does, because I was reading when roll-over happened and didn't start my herd until the day after) so I tend to pick up games quickly.
And I know the post you're talking about. From the sounds of it it probably could've sold for even higher to the right people...Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

@Wildland_Acres I've gotten Yule Log and Silver Pocket Watch as rerolls. I think it's just genes that cost a significant amount to GMT - you probably shouldn't be able to turn a large profit from rerolling, as it is the cost (a couple hundred thousand) is a bit higher than the value of most regular Rank Specials (non DP or pearl carriers).
The Diamond Age that got voted down is definitely worth what that player was asking, in my opinion. If he happened to be a mare I imagine he'd have sold in a minute for even more.
