So, what's your corner?
-
What is your little corner of focussed breeding on HJ2? Intentional and also unintentional? I started out with pale colours, such as perlino, cremello, pale buckskins but ended up at the dark side and pretty much focus mostly on DP dark shades.
So intentionally I go for liver, chestnuts and bays in my stables now. I also go for the super obvious dapples and tobiano. These two sum up what look I really go for!
Unintentionally, I have a lot of grey and a lot of dun! Which chucks out the odd pretty horse that gets kept in my lines.#4519 -

My intentional program is loud apps but I ended up loving the liver and DP horses so have a line of that as well as liver apps
-
I am the complete non-specialist and have a bit of almost everything in my stable. :DDe gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Liver and Sooty+ are my main focus but I also have Snowflake and Ice 13 :)

I generally just breed them to be small as sport ponies are sort or my thing but as I go on I'd like to start breeding for more specific coloring
These re few of my favorites so far:
I also focus more on showing than breedingOwner Of Bellwether Farm

My corner is Sooty Sooty Black based duns, Bay/brown dun, dunskins, grullos, but a few bays and blacks in the mix are natural and ok too. I like incorporating other genes on top of this on a few individuals, (silver, rabicanno, DP, etc...) but the black based dun is the base for it.
As for unintentional, I ended up getting this boy. I came very close to gelding him because he was red faced and not dun, but he might be the best horse I've produced. So now I have this stud who doesn't fit with the rest, but I give him a pass. ;)
And one day when I was bored, I decided on a whim to start into a second line of colors you can get with the Kings Ransom Rank Special. My first mares for that line turn 4 next month, so let's see how that goes.
-
I just started specializing in draftaloosa horses. My goal is to create a consistent leoprd pattern.
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=673915 -
I focus mainly on dark (DP), sooty+, brown buckskin appaloosas, but every color seems to find its way into my barn!
-
I am a lot like Wildland, I think - I love the black-based dun. Honestly, anything dun will work, but I prefer black-based. I'm more flexible on color than I am on quality and bone weight and era, though. I only breed era 4 draft horses and I'm ruthless about quality. But black-based duns with liberal silver are my general goal - I love the dapples, y'see. :D
-
I'm still mostly focusing on getting good showing horses, but plan on breeding warmbloods and maybe some sport ponies. And I like horses with various variations of pinto patterns and just chrome in general. But I also love a good, dark dark bay and dapples too.
-
It's nice to see that I'm not the only one drawn to the dark side ;)
@Bestfriend: So you go mainly for heavy bays?
@CaddoFarms: Love the dappling! I think I have an opposite situation to your WB's. I have over 600 horses and only 5 Heavy types.
@Friesianpaints: I've just started added some Apps into my line, not sure how I feel about it at the moment. Some of them are super loud, and others just have some little flecks.
@SandycreekFarm: So you don't aim for anything in particular? You just see what comes out of it?
@AHayesHorses: I'm still trying to get a hold of S+, since it throws up a lovely ember like effect with cream. Also, roan on brown is gorgeous! I love that App girl <3<br />
@JordanK: My partner is trying to breed for the smallest pon's too :) He's aiming for 'tiny fatties', so mini cobs! What's the smallest you've gotten?
@Wildland Acres: I get the odd Chocolate as well. Atomic Mist is a really interesting looking grullo. Is it the silver that's lightened the colour out?
@Jezmynespice1: That's a bit of an odd mix! Do you like the jarring of the sharp splash with the soft spots of the app?
@Foxx: Oh gosh, he's really cute! Are you going to add in height as well?
@Rhythm Falls: That base colour is GORGEOUS! Roan + Appaloosa always make such a pretty combo, also yay for another DP breeder :)
@PhoenixRising: I've been a bit ruthless with my own stock too. I'm very choosy with colour and quality. I've gotten to a stage now where if my mares are papering less than a blue at gen III they're goners. Also yeees to the silver! I'm adding it in :) It's reminds me of epona from LoZ, and she's a good horse to aim for.
@PinnacleValley: If you like dapples, you should try a dark dark buckskin, they have really golden dapples! Also showing stock is a good starting point, maximise profit and then breed in the desirables that you can afford to house.#4519 -

atm I'm just trying to get my points up so I can buy a barn to get more show ponies to buy more barns! xD
But I am hoping to do a line of drafts. I love the sooty and bays, but go for any colour really. I also want to do a line of satins, but to start that I want a homozygous satin stally, so that is going to take a while to gmt...Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
Currently I'm breeding for ice, pearl and large amounts of white. I've had a few solids here and there, no base color is set just the patterning. Here's some of my favorites
Wild pearl Christmas 17
3 fevered ice 15
Silver Apple 17 -
I haven't had the game for too long but I beleive the smallest I've gotten for breeding was a mare last season who I beleive was 12.3Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Thought I'd pitch in.
I currently breed warmbloods and drafts. After experimenting for the better half of a year I've finally decided to start breeding for good quality as well as started a brand new draft line.
Colors I like in my wb is chestnuts of just about any shade, dark buckskin, dark brown and then I have other random colors everywhere (gotta keep variety.) For patterns I try for roan, leopard, varnish, kit m, then good old splash and tobiano.
My old drafts are mostly bay, brown and chestnut with dun and very light appy.
My new line is based solely on the percheron with black and grey being my main color with blue roan and dark (basically black) brown/bay as secondary colors. It's actually really difficult. Height color and quality is hard to start and keep with only a few horses
Here's a few of my horses
Tangerines a 2nd Gen bay leopard stallion
CG Tangerine 2e leo
Blasphemy one of my favorite mares. 2nd gen chestnut with a great splash pattern
CG Blasphemy 2ge K
Vague Madame a nice dark liver sabino Marengo also 2nd
CG Vague Madame 2ge K
Okapi my first brindle I ever bred
CG 2e Okapi brndl
From my draft line (GrisChevalDeTrait)
A black chestnut foundation. She'll be used to provide black bay/brown 2nd gens
f CG Burnt Bronze D C
Example of grey I like for them. This foal will have to be removed though, Cheval will need to be over 16.3 hands to pass into breeding the next gen
HazeXsalt 2e D C
And now I'm done Cuz that was way to long----
Barn ID 4953 -
When I first started I didn't focus too much on patterns or colors and mainly just went for quality and show ponies. Now I'm focusing on my dark based KP line. Here are a few of my foundations.
BH Exceptional KP
BH Saint Nicholas SR KP
BH Blackest SR KP
BH Porcelain SR
BH Rhythmic SR
BH Cinnamon Cider SR
And the newest addition!
BH The Mad Hatter SR KP -
Eventually gonna have all of them over 17hh and hopefully as close to 4 or more on bone.
-
@Bourbon wow, you have some gorgeous ponies yourself. Yes, the silver gene lightens grullos out like that. I really like how the silver dappling and the sooty plus combine on her to give her a really smokey look, and the slight brownish to the face.

Halloween Dancer
My Dancer is my main line. I am wanting to produce the best quality black tobi rabicano horses. I have just produced some 3g foals by one of his sons.
My other line I have started is a Shire Draft line. I just got started with this line. My colors there are black bay grey and my only gene that can be in this line is roan. I am starting with some splash so that I get my blaze horses and white stockings.
The other genes I am doing s satin and KP genes.
