Snowflake and ice 13

So I have a snowflake carrier stud. He has made several snowflake babies. But the ones who are not showing snowflake- is there a way to tell if the ones not showing are carriers?
And with ice 13 if they are not showing they are not ever able to pass down right? -
Snowflake - No, if he's heterozygous then there's really no way to tell other than test breedings.
Ice - Correct, if it doesn't show then it's not present. Ice is testable, so you can look at the horse's genotype and see what they carry if you're unsure. -
Ok. So for snowflake - can it skip generations? Like can the heterozygous have a heterozygous foal? I just hate to think I could be selling carriers

It doesn't "skip generations" but heterozygous carriers can always pass the unexpressed gene to their offspring.

A heterozygous carrier can absolutely still pass the gene on. Any gene a horse has is able to be passed on to their foals.
You have a 50% chance that a heterozygous snowflake mare will pass on the gene to her foal. However unless the mare is breed to another snowflake carrier, none of her foals will express the gene since it needs to be homozygous to show. -
It's inheritability is very much like KP or GP if you breed those, but I personally find it much much more frustrating to breed for. I have been totally unsuccessful, mostly because I didn't separate out my carriers into a special pasture like I did for my KP and GP lines. I currently have 5 possible carrier stallions at gen 3 and am trying to figure out who has it and who doesn't!!!

i was just about to ask this very question as i just bred some foals from snowflake straws i got as SS presents and was going to ask if there was a way to tell if they had it since it wasn't showingCelestial Performance Horses
