  • Hi I am new to H&J2! I wanted to introduce myself and say hi.
  • Welcome to the game! I hope you are soon enjoying it as much as I do. Don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have. It's a complex game, so the more specific the question the easier it is to answer. We're a friendly community and always glad to lend a helping hand to new players.

  • Exactly Sandy helped me get started some on here

  • Thank you all for such a warm welcome! :D. Though is it usually slow in starting off on this game?
  • Yes! Haha from what I have seen. A lot of patience is needed. I think once you advance in the game, you obtain more horses and money and are able to have more to do. Until then there's a lot of waiting to be done.
  • Alright,Thank you! I shall wait and progress.
  • Mhmm! Don't give up! Its a very addicting and fun game!
  • Welcome :) I think you will find that before long you have too many horses and patience won't be much of a problem (more like time to plan breedings...haha). I recommend reading through old forum threads if you are feeling an itch to do something. You'll find it pretty educational. I also have an account on HAJ for the main purpose of hanging out on the forum.
  • Is the first version anything like this one?
  • Yes they are very similar. The main differences are that on the first server (HAJ) there are a lot more people and a game year is 2 real life months (here on HJ2 1 game year=1 RL month). There are also "exceptional" foundations (foundations with higher than 100% breeding or showing ability), whereas on HJ2 foundations do not exceed 100% ability. HJ2 tends to get a lot of the newer features first as Ammit uses the smaller community to test some of her ideas before they are used on the big server. Right now HJ2 is in the middle of an image generation upgrade, so you'll notice a certain color horse might look totally different on HAJ vs HJ2 (this is ongoing so expect changes - I would expect once the bugs are worked out here, HAJ will get the new image system as well).

There are a few other features that HAJ has which do no exist on HJ2. For example, on HAJ players can pay RL money to boost the breeding ability of a horse. It is my understanding that those features do not exist here as per the request of the players.

Personally, I like HJ2 more. The community is smaller which means you get to know people better and it makes you feel like a relevant stable faster (or at least that's my experience). I have only been here for 2 months or so and I already have horses making the leader boards which is pretty neat :) I also like that there are no exceptional horses and no boosts - I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I feel like it makes the game a little more challenging.

Other than that, the game mechanics of HAJ and HJ2 are pretty much identical.
  • Here is a helping hand for your stable:

    http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=76256

She is an older spayed mare who has leveled off in her training. She's currently in a good spot, doing well in her classes. She has gained 794 showing points so far, which are currently worth 397 hbs toward the weekly showing bonus. Keep training her, even though she will only gain a fraction of a show score point each week, and show her two times a week, no matter where she places, and she will continue gaining show points awarded for her place in each class, increasing her contribution to the showing bonus. She should have 4 more game years, at least (4 real life months) to be an asset to your stable, and if she is lucky, she may survive even longer.

I have put her on buddy sale for you, for 500 hbs. Just click on her link above.

  • I currently do not have the money for her, thank you for the help though,if you are still willing to sell her to me when i get more money i sure will buy and show her.
  • No problem. You're the only person on my buddy list at the moment, so she will be waiting for you when you can afford her. She's in one of my showing barns, so she'll be entered on Wednesday and Saturday this week and continue gaining points.

  • Alright sounds good thank you!
  • Welcome PHHS, I know you will have lots of fun in the game.
  • Hate to ask here but when do we get our weekly deposits in?
  • Sunday :) If you are not upgraded you have to remember to accept it (you have until the next deposit comes in, so next Sunday). I believe the button will be on your "Stable Home" page.
  • Thank you!Happy easter also!
