Gene modification
-
I won the candy horse raffle and I have never used a GMT before. Can someone explain how it works and what genes I can modify. I tried to do it on one horse and I clicked every gene and it kept saying there was no gene to modify. Can someone explain to me what I've done wrong or how it works?

To start this horse is probably not worth spending a 250,000 hb token on. He is only worth 2,500 auction price.
You will have far better luck trying to edit a foundation and not a lined horse. Lined horses can only get genes that their parents have. With his parents there are no color options but a bay.

The Gene Mod Treatment (GMT) is used to modify the genetics of any horse you own, that is 4 years of age or younger, unbred, and gene tested. Your horse fits all of the criteria.
Next you need to observe the cost of the modification of interest, is it 1 GMT token or 40 GMT tokens?
Also, when modifying a horse that is not foundation, you can only add genes from the parents. If the sire/dam has splash but the foal did not get splash, you can modify the foal to have splash. However, splash cannot be added if neither the sire nor the dam had splash.
I hope that helps. Feel free to ask further questions if I didn't clear up the confusion. :)
EDIT: Oh! Looks like Ammit got to it before I did. :D -
Thanks for yalls help! I will try using it on a foundation horse.

If you click on the GMT link, you will find a list of the number of tokens needed for the alleles available.
Many of the more common colors only require 1 token. Most patterns and rarer colors take 2 at least 2 and often more.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
