tack
-
My question is do the horses do better in shows if they have tack on. Is it more for our pleasure?
-
don't think so, i put tack on my horses just because i like my horses to look pretty lol :-)Celestial Performance Horses

Ammit did mention once, I think, that someday it might, but at present MoonAcre is correct.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Aw ok. I don't really put tack on. I am thinking about putting a halter on all of the horses.
-
I use tack as a kind of code. I'm trying to breed for height and bone, halter means tall enough, flowers in their mane and tail means enough bone, a saddle means pt over 10! Then when I look through families I can see how I'm doing!!!
-
What a clever idea. I sometimes put a special halter and fly net on the Best Foal in Pasture but I'm not consistent about it. Now that we have halters for all three sizes of horses, it might be easier to remember.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Aw that is a very cool idea.
-
I never thought of doing anything like that. Like sandy said very clever!
-
Back when tack first came out lots of people used it for keeping track of things! It's cool how things come back around!
-
I use it to keep track of things too. Mares all get shiny spray. Stallions get shiny spray and halters. My 1000 point club showers get a full tack set with saddle, bridle and braids.SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES

I think I may have to do this. I like it. I think it will make things simplier.

I use tattoo placement to determine generation! Shoulder is ufoundation and "bought in" horses, thigh is 2nd and 3rd, hip is 4th and 5th, whither is 6th and 7th and then jaw is show ponies :D just an idea for when you get your tattoos
Before I had a tattoo I used halter colors as quality for different generations. Different shades of blue for different foundations levels, red was 2nd and I think I had purple for 3rd? Orange mea you "iffy". I like having halters on all my horses just to make them look pretty now though. I really like yellow on dark Bay and orange on black blue on grey maroon on dun and so on
My DP and black horses do get shiny spray, my older brood mares with good points get a mohawk, favorite stallions get braids and favorite show horses get full tack WITH one of the color back drop backgrounds. The other show ponies just get plain tack
...I'll shut up now X_X----
