I geld and spay RELIGIOUSLY. Before I even do any papering I speld foals based on color genetics. If they don't have at least 2 specific things I'm breeding for, out come the snippers! I snip even more after I've papered them. Snipping my foals religiously has allowed me to breed shiny, high-quality horses even in my comparatively small herd.
This filly came out with a plain wild bay base color, no S+ or satin, so I snipped. Lo and behold, she is a 3rd/4th gen *Gold! I don't think I'll unalter her, unless I'm still thinking about it in a few days. But man, the one time my strategy bites me in the backside and it's this girl.

Oh that’s cry worthy right there! She’s so pretty too.

Daayum! If she wasn't a restricted gene I would have paid you to unalter her and take her off your hands. Gold at that low a gen is pretty bloody hard to get.#4519

The rest of my 4th gen foals were a bust. She might get unaltered.ID# 43830

Dang! If you don't end up keeping her I'll pay ya for the unalter and take her off your hands, cause that is one gorgeous lil gal, and she would go beautifully in my bootstrap herd! :xISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!
God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.
