I just thought that was kinda interesting. Steady positive population growth. Then steady. Then BOOM!
Gender ratios are interesting too... But I'm kinda embarrased by my rations. I'm a bad example....
I know buying/selling will have an affect, but that just makes it more interesting. Maybe I'll look at bred by and not owned by next time.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
You see an explosion at 9 years because I bought my first 1000 stable there and started filling it with show ponies.

I was pretty steady from my 16-11 year olds. Then when you hit my 10 year olds I added three new herds so my number went up. To even that out I didn't really breed the next year (my 9 year olds). Since then the numbers really went up. Because of secret Santa last month I had to cut down on the number of foals I kept so you see a drop there. Hopefully this month I can keep the number closer to 200-300 and not 300-400. I don't need more ponies! (But I reallyyy want them!)
Overall my numbers are
3474 total
2127 show ponies

(Yes, I know my ratio is way out of whack. I'm going to be doing a massive cull once my pastures get cleared out. Part of my issue is I've accumulated at least 40 rank specials that are super pretty to look at, are mostly pointed, and don't necessarily fit with what I breed for, but I feel bad altering, because, you know, rank special. I also went a bit...uh, overboard... during the exceptional create event, but made a bunch of two year olds, so they're perfect, but not technically breeders yet.) -
Hmm. Looks like I'm way behind on neutering. :D However, I have a lot of intact horses that have never been bred.

Definitely had a couple of jumps - significant one in September (4 months ago) - I think that's when I decided to keep more of my own home-bred horses as show ponies.
3700 neuters
nearly 2000 mares
450 stallions
In fairness most of these mares are in barns showing as well as all studs. I have 350 pasture spaces. -
So I’ve been playing roughly a year, and do not spend RL money. So this is just what I’ve been able to do on my own.

107 pages total, 2675 horses exactly
Stallions: 4 pages, 99 studs - only use about 12, and quite a few are this years colts that passed SBA but I haven’t gone through yet, I slightly skewed results there
Mares: 38 pages, 950 mares exactly - about 200 of these mares are lined mares I don’t always use, so are put up for public breeding periodically and show
Altered: 66 pages, 1626 horses
Owned by, but not bred by: 57 pages, 1414 horses - quite a few show ponies I grabbed from auction, foundie mares, assorted others purchased to bring outside genes in

OMG @supersarah I had no idea you were a bigger barn than me! I feel so much better now!
-
@supersarah Oh man, I thought my 1600 were hard to manage. How do you manage that many horses?
-
In truth I have stopped breeding a lot of my intacts, now I only breed the best. I also now only breed wild bay, in w1,w10, macchiato or ice 6 and only breed livers in w8 ,w3, ice 8, or mushroom. My bootstraps now have to be higher than 11.5pt to breed. So alot are in the show barn but not spelded.ID #21047

I have been playing for almost a year. I'm a smaller barn compared to other commenters but it is interesting that you can tell when I started keeping my spelds. I have a 4/1 speld/intact ratio, and about 37% are homebred (my outside bred horses are mostly spelded show ponies). Of 495 lined horses bred by me, 99 are owned by other players... maybe I should start doing more public sales?ID# 43830
