Update: Congratulations to our winner, BlaxkDiamond!

Happy New Year, everyone! To celebrate the joy of having a warm house and fast internet during a cold and rainy weekend, I am giving away this lovely Exceptionally Perfect draft mare. There are not many ExPerfect palomino tobianos in the game, and I think she is a particularly lovely specimen.

This giveaway will run until Sunday night, 6 January, at 11:59 PM Eastern (game time).

To enter, tell me the name and species of your favorite pet (it does not have to belong to you), and if you know the backstory, how they got their name.
Example: Eyedrop was my brother’s first hampster. He named her Eyedrop because our sister was undergoing post-operative treatment on her eyes to improve her vision. In his six-year-old way, he knew taking her eyedrops was hard for her, and he thought she would feel better if she had an eyedrop buddy.

CD was my first cat. I got him when I was 3 or 4 and the first time I saw him I thought he was blue, then a couple minutes later he was gray. So my mind thought about how the back of CDs are silver, but also have that shimmery rainbow affect, and change colors. So that’s what I named my cat because he was gray and changed colors.

My favorite “Pet” would have to be Lexi my horse. (Although she’s supposed to be a “working show horse not a pet” hahaha). I’m actually not sure how she got her name (random side story, all of the past horses I’ve been in association with have had car names that they came with. I’ll post all th he names below). But her sire is All Time Fancy. So she is “Too Sexy For My Time”. What rhymes with Sexy? Lexi....

I do feel guilty about not saying at least something about my boxer dog Maddie. She is more devoted to me than any other animal ever! And follows me everywhere. We have the same birthday - just 10 years apart. For a boxer she is an impressive age - 8 1/2! Go Maddie! But you would never know except for her completely gray muzzle that used to be black. Although it did start graying out early

My favorite was Pippin, my quaker parrot (also known as a monk parrot or monk parakeet https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monk_parakeet ).

He got his name after Pippin from Lord of the Rings, because I'd barely had him for two weeks and he was already getting into more trouble than any bird I'd had before, and 99% of the time it was well intentioned but accidental. Falling behind the bed while having fun yelling into the abyss? Check. Getting stuck in a glass trying to clean up the last dregs of my juice drink? Check. Talk about a handful. He was absolutely adorable and so kind-hearted, though - just a bit of a walking disaster. The spirit of a cockatoo in a much smaller body. =))
